Moses told the people all Jehovah's words and legal decisions. Then all the people answered with one voice: We will do everything Jehovah told us to do.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

All the people answered together: We will do everything Jehovah has said. So Moses brought their answer back to Jehovah.

Yes I cry for Help! I am being attacked! But I get no response. I call for help, but there is no justice.

Why are you so distant, Jehovah? Why do you hide in times of trouble?

([Psalm of David]) How long, O Jehovah? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I make decisions alone with sorrow in my heart day after day? How long will my enemy triumph over me?

They went on with their prayers from midday till the time of the offering; but there was no voice, or any answer, or any who gave attention to them.

You will serve gods that are the work of men's hands. Made of wood and stone. They cannot see, hear, eat or smell.

They do not know or understand anything. Their eyes are plastered shut and cannot see. Their minds are closed and therefore they cannot understand.

When someone slaps you on one cheek offer the other. Give your coat to the one who takes your topcoat. Give to every one who asks of you and do not demand back your goods from he who takes from you.

A servant will not be corrected by words alone. Even though he understands he will not respond.

I have punished your children without results. They did not respond to correction. You killed my prophets like a raging lion.

Yet they did not listen or incline their ears. They stiffened their necks in order not to listen or take correction.

have turned their backs, not their faces to me. I taught them again and again, but they refused to listen and learn.

The people kept quiet. They did as King Hezekiah told them. They did not say a word.

They were silent and did not say anything to him because the king commanded them not to answer him.

They are dismayed and they answer no more. They do not have a word to say. Should I wait, because they do not speak, because they stand there, and answer no more?

JOB ANSWERED JEHOVAH: I am so insignificant. How can I answer you? I will put my hand over my mouth. I spoke once, but I cannot answer twice. I will proceed no further.

No one was able to answer him. After that they asked no more questions.

They were not able to apprehend him in front of the people. They were amazed by his answer and kept quiet.

Jesus did not answer. Not even a word! The governor was greatly surprised.
