27 Bible Verses about The Sin Nature

You put away your former way (course) (behavior) (conversation) of life, the old self that was corrupt with the lusts of deceit.

We know this that our old self was impaled with him that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we should no longer be in bondage to sin.

They who live according to flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh. They who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

Do not lie to one another, seeing that you got rid of the old self with its evil practices.

Now the works of the flesh (sinful human nature) are apparent. They are: fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, wrath, contentions, divisions, sects, envies, drunkenness, revelries, and things like these. I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that those who practice such things would not inherit the kingdom of God.

Those influenced by the sinful flesh cannot please God.

Make your members that are upon the earth dead with regard to fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness (greed), which is idolatry.

When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.

Therefore, through one-man sin entered into the world, and death through sin. So death passed to all men, for all have sinned.

That which is born from the flesh is flesh and that which is born from the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I say you must be born again.

That which is born from the flesh is flesh and that which is born from the Spirit is spirit.

This is because the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God. It is not subject to the law of God for it cannot be. Those influenced by the sinful flesh cannot please God.

Indeed, I was born in perversity (mischief) (evil). I was a sinner when my mother conceived me.

The wicked go astray from the womb. They are wayward as soon as they are born. They speak lies.

There is no man on earth who is righteous and does not sin.

The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately corrupt. Who can understand it?

All of us have become unclean, and all our righteous acts are like permanently stained rags. All of us wither like leaves, and our sins carry us away like the wind.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Who among you, who would give his son a stone when he asks him for bread? Who will give him a serpent when he asks for a fish? Even though you are a sinner, you know how to give good gifts to your children. Think how much more your Father in heaven gives good things to those who ask him!

When those of the nations, who have no law, practice by nature the things of the law they are a law to themselves even though they do not have any law. They show the work of the law written in their hearts. Their conscience also bears witness, and their thoughts accuse or excuse them.

I do not understand what I am doing. For what I want to do I do not do. What I hate, I do.

If I do what I do not want to do, this means that I am no longer the one who does it. Instead, it is the sin that lives in me.

But Jesus said to him: Follow me; and leave the dead to bury their own dead.

You were once dead because of your trespasses and sins.

The mind of sinful flesh (fleshly thought) means death; but the mind influenced by the Spirit gives life and peace. This is because the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God. It is not subject to the law of God for it cannot be.

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God. They are foolishness to him! He cannot know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Death and the grave were hurled into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Whoever was not found written in the book of life was hurled (thrust) (thrown) into the lake of fire.
