Those who are of a perverse heart are abomination to Jehovah. The way of the upright is his delight.
A perverse heart shall depart from me. I will not know a wicked person. I will destroy anyone who secretly slanders his neighbor. I will not tolerate anyone with a conceited look or arrogant heart.
Every one proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah. Though they unite they will all be punished.
He who has a deceitful heart finds no good. He who has a perverse tongue falls into mischief.
It will happen when Jehovah has performed all his work on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem. He will say: I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his haughty appearance.
I, Jehovah, search the heart and examine the mind (inner man). I give to each man according to his ways, according to the results of his deeds.
The Lord Jehovah says: 'Because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet and rejoiced in your scorn against the land of Israel, I have stretched out my hand against you and I will give you for spoil to the nations. A woman named Lydia who was a seller of purple came from Thyatira. She worshipped God because God opened her heart to listen to the things spoken by Paul. But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. It is the word of faith, which we preach. By grace (Greek: charis, divine favor, loving-kindness) you have been saved through faith. It is not from you. It is the gift from God!
When Saul tried to leave Samuel, God changed his mind. That day all these signs happened.
Others fell on rocky places and did not have much soil. When they grew, the sun scorched them, and because they had no root they withered and died.
Other seed fell on the rocky ground and did not have good soil. Immediately it sprang up, because it had no good soil it became scorched when the sun came up. Then it withered because it had no root.
Other seed fell on the rock. As soon as it grew it withered away because it had no moisture.
Anyone sown among the rocky places hears the word and immediately with joy receives it. There is no root in him. He endures for a while. When he has tribulation or persecution because of the word, he falls away.
The same is so of the word sown upon the rocky places. When they have heard the word and receive it with joy, they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while. They stumble when tribulation or persecution arise.
Those on the rock are those who receive the word with joy. These have no root. They believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.
Those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good Word of God, and the powers of the age to come, if they shall fall away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance. This is because they personally impale the Son of God again, and expose him to public shame.read more.
The earth that drinks in the rain that comes upon it, and brings forth vegetation for those by whom it was cultivated, receives blessing from God. That which bears thorns and briars is rejected, and is near to being cursed. It ends up being burned.
If we continue to (practice) (deliberately persist in) sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins. But there remains a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fiery indignation, which will devour God's enemies. He that despised Moses' Law died without mercy under two or three witnesses.read more.
What about those who despise the Son of God? Those who treat as a cheap thing the blood of God's covenant that purified them from sin? Those who insult the Spirit of grace? Think how much worse the punishment they deserve will be!
