Then saith Jesus to him, Be gone, Satan! for it is written, "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." Then the Devil leaveth him; and lo! angels came and ministered to him.

And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led in the Spirit in the wilderness forty days, tempted by the Devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry. And the Devil said to him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it become a loaf of bread.read more.

And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence; for it is written, "He will give his angels charge concerning thee, to guard thee; and in their hands they will bear thee up, that thou mayst not dash thy foot against a stone." And Jesus answering said to him, It hath been said, "Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God." And when he had brought every temptation to an end, the Devil departed from him for a season.

Matthew 16:21-23

From that time Jesus began to show to his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be put to death, and rise again on the third day. Then Peter, taking him aside, began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord! This shall not be to thee. But he turned and said to Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan! thou art my stumblingblock; for thy thoughts are not on the things of God, but on those of men.

Watch, and pray that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Again he went away a second time, and prayed, saying, My Father, if this [cup] cannot pass away from me, but I must drink it, thy will be done! And coming again he found them sleeping; for their eyes were heavy. And leaving them, he went away again, and prayed the third time, saying again the same words.

Mark 14:32-42

And he cometh and findeth them sleeping; and he saith to Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? Couldst not thou watch one hour? Watch, and pray that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words. And returning, he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy; and they knew not what to answer him. And he cometh the third time, and saith to them, Sleep on, and take your rest! It is enough! the hour is come: lo! the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going; lo! he that delivereth me up is at hand.

Luke 22:40-46

And when he was at the place, he said to them, Pray that ye may not enter into temptation. And he withdrew from them about a stones throw; and kneeling down he prayed, saying, Father, if thou art willing to remove this cup from meyet not my will, but thine be done!read more.
And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly. And his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling to the ground.
