So they drew up Jeremiah with ropes and took him up out of the pit. And Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

If it is so that our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, then He will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever. My God has sent His Angel, and has shut the lions' mouths, and they have not hurt me, because before Him purity was found in me. And also before you, O king, I have done no harm. Then the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of hurt was found on him, because he trusted in his God.

This man was taken by the Jews and would have been killed by them. Then I came with an army and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.

delivering you from the people and the nations, to whom I now send you

persecutions, afflictions, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra. What persecutions I endured! But the Lord delivered me out of all.
