and the stones did rent, and graves did open, and the bodies of many saints which slept, arose:

Many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth, shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to perpetual shame and reproof.

Marvel not at this: that the hour shall come, in which all that are in the graves, shall hear his voice, and shall come forth: They that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; And they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

And I saw the dead, both great and small, stand before God: And the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged of those things which were written in the books according to their deeds. And the sea gave up her dead, which were in her, and death and hell delivered up the dead, which were in them: and they were judged every man according to his deeds.

because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world according to righteousness, by that man, whom he hath appointed, and hath offered faith to all men, after that he had raised him from death."

and that in a moment, and in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trumpet. For the trumpet shall blow, and the dead shall rise incorruptible: And we shall be changed.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, and the voice of the archangel, and trump of God. And the dead in Christ shall arise first:

and have hope towards God, that the same resurrection from death, which they themselves look for also, shall be both of just and unjust.

"When the son of man shall cometh in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his glory and before him shall be gathered all nations. And he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth the sheep from the goats.

If Christ be preached, how that he rose from the dead: how say some that are among you, that there is no resurrection of the dead?

The same day the Sadducees came to him, which say that there is no resurrection, and they asked him,

Then came the Sadducees came unto him, which say there is no resurrection. And they asked him, saying,

Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection. And they asked him,

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit. But the Pharisees grant both.

which as concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already, and do destroy the faith of divers persons.

Certain Philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoics, disputed with him. And some there were which said, "What will this babbler say?" Others said, "He seemeth to be a tidings-bringer of new devils," because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

Why should it be thought a thing incredible unto you, that God should raise again the dead?

Jesus answered and said unto them, "Ye are deceived, and understand not what the scripture meaneth, nor yet the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are married: but are as the angels of God in heaven. As touching the resurrection of the dead: have ye not read what is said unto you of God, which sayeth,read more.
'I am Abraham's God, and Isaac's God, and the God of Jacob?' God is not the God of the dead: but of the living."

Jesus answered, and said unto them, "Are ye not therefore deceived, and understand not the scriptures, neither the power of God? For when they shall rise again from death, they neither marry, nor are married: but are as the angels which are in heaven. As touching the dead, that they shall rise again: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?'read more.
He is not the God of the dead: but the God of the living. Ye are therefore greatly deceived."

Jesus answered and said unto them, "The children of this world marry wives, and are married, but they which shall be made worthy to enjoy that world, and the resurrection from death, neither marry wives, neither are married, nor yet can die any more. For they are equal unto the angels: and are the sons of God, inasmuch as they are the children of the resurrection.read more.
And that the dead shall rise again, even Moses signified besides the bush, when he said, 'The Lord God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' For he is not the God of the dead, but of them which live. For all live in him."

But some man will say, "How shall the dead arise? With what bodies come they in? Thou fool, that which thou sowest, is not quickened except it die. And what sowest thou? Thou sowest not that body that shall be: but bare corn - I mean either of wheat, or of some other -read more.
and God giveth it a body at his pleasure, to every seed a several body. All flesh is not one manner of flesh: but there is one manner flesh of men, another manner flesh of beasts, another manner flesh of fishes, and another of birds. There are celestial bodies, and there are bodies terrestrial: But the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one manner glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, an another glory of the stars. For one star differeth from another in glory. So is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, and riseth in incorruption. It is sown in dishonour, and riseth in honour. It is sown in weakness, and riseth in power. It is sown a natural body, and riseth a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is a spiritual body.
