And the LORD said, 'Who shall deceive Ahab king of Israel, that he may go and be overthrown at Ramoth in Gilead?' And while one said thus and another that, there came out a spirit and stood before the LORD and said, 'I will deceive him.' And the LORD said to him, 'How?' And he said, 'I will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.' And the LORD said, 'Thou shalt deceive him and shalt prevail, go out and do even so.'
Be sober, and watch. For your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist, steadfast in the faith, remembering that ye do but fulfill the same afflictions which are appointed to your brethren that are in the world.
Then said the LORD unto Satan, "Hast thou not considered my servant Job, and how that he is an innocent and virtuous man: such one as feareth God, and escheweth evil, and that there is none like him in the land?" Satan answered, and said unto the LORD, "Doth Job fear God for naught? Hast thou not preserved him, his house, and all his substance on every side? Hast thou not blessed the work of his hands? Is not his possession increased in the land?read more.
But lay thine hand upon him a little, touch once all that he hath, and, I hold, he shall curse thee to thy face." And the LORD said unto Satan, "Lo, all that he hath, be in thy power: only upon himself see that thou lay not thine hand." Then went Satan forth from the LORD.
Then said the LORD unto Satan, "Hast thou not considered my servant Job, how that he is an innocent and virtuous man such one as feareth God, and escheweth evil, and that there is none like him in the land? But thou movedst me against him, to punish him: yet is it in vain, for he continueth still in his godliness." Satan answered the LORD, and said, "Skin for skin? Yea, a man will give all that ever he hath, for his life. But lay thine hand upon him, touch him once upon the bone and flesh, and, I hold, he shall curse thee to thy face."read more.
Then said the LORD unto Satan, "Lo, there hast thou him in thy power, but spare his life."
Then was Jesus led away of the spirit into wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
and he was there in the wilderness forty days, and was tempted of Satan, and was with wild beasts. And the angels ministered unto him.

For a certain woman, whose daughter had a foul spirit, heard of him, and came and fell down at his feet.
And there was in their synagogue, a man vexed with an unclean spirit, and that cried
And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried with a loud voice,
When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all that were sick:
and he healed many that were sick of divers diseases. And he cast out many devils; and suffered them not to speak, because they knew him.
When the sun was down, all they that had sick, taken with divers diseases, brought them unto him: and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
But if I cast out the devils by the spirit of God, then is the kingdom of God come on you?
But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt, the kingdom of God is come upon you.
And Jesus rebuked the devil, and he came out of him: and the child was healed even that same hour.
When Jesus saw that the people came running together unto him, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, "Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee come out of him, and enter no more into him." And the spirit cried, and rent him sore and came out: And he was as one that had been dead, insomuch that many said, "He is dead."
As he yet was a coming, the fiend rent him, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him to his father.
There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing with them sick folks and them which were vexed with unclean spirits. And they were healed every one.
For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed of them. And many taken with palsies, and many that halted, were healed.
Let there not be found among you that maketh his son or his daughter go through fire, either a bruterer or a maker of dismal days, or that useth witchcraft, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or that speaketh with a spirit, or a soothsayer, or that asketh the advice of the dead.
Turn not to them that work with spirits, neither regard them that observe dismal days, that ye be not defiled by them: for I am the LORD your God.
"'If any soul turn him to enchanters or expounders of tokens and go a whoring after them, I will put my face upon that soul and will destroy him from among his people.
And Saul changed his clothes and put on other raiment; and then went he, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night. And the woman said unto him, "Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath destroyed the women that had prophesying spirits, and the sorcerers, out of the land. And he offered his son in fire, and observed dismal days; and used witchcraft and maintained workers with spirits, and tellers of fortunes - and wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD to anger him.
And he burnt his children in fire in the valley of the sons of Hinnom. And he observed dismal days and occupied witchcraft and sorcery, and maintained workers with spirits and seers of fortunes: and wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to anger him withal.
And therefore if they say unto you, "Ask counsel at the soothsayers, witches, charmers and conjurers," then make them this answer: "Is there a people anywhere, that asketh not counsel at his God? Should they run unto the dead for the living?"
And Egypt shall be choked in herself. When they ask counsel at their idols, at their sorcerors, at their soothsayers and witches: then will I bring their counsel to naught.
Ye beloved, believe not every spirit: but prove the spirits whether they be of God, or not: for many false prophets are gone out in to the world.
to another, power to do miracles; to another prophecy; to another, judgment of spirits; to another divers tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
Hereby shall ye know the spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God. And the same is that spirit of antichrist, of whom ye have heard, how that he should come: and even now already is he in the world. Little children, ye are of God, and have overcome them: for greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.read more.
They be of the world, and therefore speak they of the world, and the world attendeth unto them. We be of God, and he that knoweth God heareth us: and he that is not of God, heareth us not. And hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
and ye are complete in him, which is the head of all rule and power.
