The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and terrible day of the Lord comes.

through the tender mercies of our God; by which the dawn from on high has visited us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, by guiding our feet in the way of peace.

Because God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the person of Jesus Christ.
