For there stood by me this night an angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, and said, Fear not, Paul; you must stand in the presence of Caesar; and behold, God has given you all that are sailing with you.
"Watch, therefore, for you know not at what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, That if the master of the house had known at what watch the thief comes, he would have watched, and would not have permitted his house to be broken open.
And now, behold, I am going, bound in spirit, to Jerusalem, not knowing what shall befall me there,
and yet you know not what will take place to-morrow. For what is your life? Is it not, indeed, a vapor, that appears for a little while, and then vanishes away?
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if this, my life in the flesh, would be profitable for my work in the ministry, verily, what I should choose I know not. I am in a strait between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better:
And every one that has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive a hundred fold, and shall inherit eternal life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
And Jesus answering, said: Verily I say to you, There is no one that has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, who shall not receive a hundred-fold, now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.
And he said to them: Verily I say to you, There is no one that has left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive manifold more in this time, and in the age to come, eternal life.
For I consider the sufferings of the present time not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed for us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the revelation of the sons of God. For the creature was subject to frailty, (not by its own will, but for his sake who subjected it,)read more.
in hope, that even the creature itself shall be made free from the bondage of corruption, and introduced into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that every creature groans, and is in pain together, till now: and not only they, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by this hope; but hope that is seen is not hope; for, what any one sees, why does he also hope for it? But if we hope for that which we see not we wait for it with patience.
And when the chief shepherd shall appear, you shall receive the crown of glory that fades not away.
Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the land mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
But our citizenship is in heaven, whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

But, we beseech you, brethren, concerning the coming of; our Lord Jesus Christ, and our coming together to him,

And this is the will of him who sent me, that of all that he gives me, I shall lose nothing, but shall raise it up at the last day. For this is the will of him that sent me, that every one who sees the Son, and believes on him, may have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
having hope in God, which they themselves also admit, that I there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and of the unjust.
knowing that he who raised up the Lord Jesus will raise us up also by Jesus, and present us together with you.
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and the power of judging was given to them; and I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God; and of those who had not worshiped the beast, nor his image, and had not received his mark on their forehead, nor on their hand: and they lived and reigned with Christ a thou sand years. But the rest of the dead lived not till the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection.
For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ, that each may receive his reward for the things done in his body, according to what he has done, whether good or evil.
For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father, with his angels; and then he will reward every one according to his deeds.
When the Son of man shall come in his own glory, and all the holy angels with him, then will he sit on the throne of his own glory; and all nations shall be gathered before him; and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates his sheep from the goats.
And, as it is appointed to men once to die, and after this the judgment,
But the heavens and the earth that now are, by the same word are kept in store, reserved for fire against the day of judgment, and perdition of ungodly men.
By this is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because, as he is, so are we in this world.
And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and hades gave up the dead that were in them; and they were judged, every one according to his works.
and then shall that lawless one be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will destroy by the spirit of his mouth, and will utterly over throw by the brightness of his coming:
Since, then, the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also, in like manner, partook of the same, that, through his death, he might deprive of power him that has the power of death, that is, the devil;
They shall hunger no more, nor shall they thirst any more, nor shall the sun fall upon them, nor any heat.
And the nations were angry, and thy wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldst give reward to thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to those who fear thy name, both small and great, and that thou shouldst destroy those who corrupt the earth.
And the beast was taken, and the false prophet that was with him, who did signs in his presence, with which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast, and those who worshiped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire, which burns with brim stone. And the rest were slain with the sword of him that sat on the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the birds were filled with their flesh.
And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are: and they shall be tormented day and night from age to age.
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying: The kingdom of the world has become our Lord's and his Christ s, and he shall reign from age to age.
Then comes the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down every principality and authority and power:
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away: and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven, from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them: and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them, their God.read more.
And he will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death; neither shall there be any more sorrow, nor crying, nor pain; for the former things have passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said: Behold, I make all things new. And he said to me: Write, for these words are true and faithful.
Brethren, I do not conclude that I have already laid hold: but one thing I do; forgetting the things which are behind, and reaching forward to those which are before, I press toward the goal, for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
If, then, you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where the Christ sits at the right hand of God; mind the things that are above, not the things that are on the earth:
Wherefore, since we also have so great a cloud of witnesses lying round about us, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that lies before us, looking to Jesus the author and finisher of the faith, who, for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
