and said to them, "The Scriptures said that the Christ should suffer as He has suffered, should rise from the dead on the third day, and that in His name repentance as the condition for the forgiveness of sins should be preached to all the nations. Beginning at Jerusalem you are to continue as witnesses to these things.

And the army captain and his men, who were keeping guard over Jesus, who felt the earthquake and saw all that was taking place, were terribly frightened, and said, "Surely this was God's Son."

And when the captain who stood facing him saw that He expired in this way, he said, "This man was surely God's Son!"

When the captain saw what had taken place, he praised God and said, "He certainly was an innocent man!"

Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he saw Jesus passing by he said, "Look! He is the Lamb of God!"

"Come, see a man who has told me everything I ever did. He is not the Christ, is He?"

Then Jesus came up to them, and said, "Full authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptize them into the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,

And this good news of the kingdom must be preached all over the inhabited world, for a testimony to all the heathen, and then the end will come.

But before the end comes, the good news must be proclaimed to all the heathen.

but you are going to receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you must be witnesses for me in Jerusalem and all over Judea and Samaria, and to the very ends of the earth."

But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name to the heathen and their kings, and to the descendants of Israel. For I am going to show him how great are the sufferings he must endure for my name's sake."

There appeared a man named John, sent from God. He came for the purpose of testifying, to testify to the light, so that everyone through him might come to believe. He was not the light; he came to testify to the light.

John testified to Him and cried out, for this was the one who said, "The One who is coming after me has been put before me, because He existed before me."

To this very One all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in Him is to receive the forgiveness of sins through His name."

Then Pilate said to Him, "So you are a king then?" Jesus answered, "Certainly I am a king. For this very purpose I was born, for this very purpose I have come into the world, to testify for truth. Everybody who is a friend of truth listens to my voice."

He who comes from above is far above all others. He who springs from earth belongs to the earth and speaks of earth. He who comes from heaven is far above all others. He continues to bear testimony to what He has actually seen and heard, and yet no one accepts His testimony. Whoever does accept His testimony has certified with a seal that God is true.read more.
For He whom God has sent continues to speak the words of God, for God continues to give Him the Spirit without measure.

And He has given some men to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers,

But you are the chosen race, the royal priesthood, the consecrated nation, the people to be His very own, to proclaim the perfections of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

but in your hearts be consecrated to Christ as Lord, and always be ready to make your defense to anyone who asks a reason for the hope you have. But you must do it in gentleness and reverence,

Now those who were scattered went from place to place preaching the good news of the message.

For if with your lips you acknowledge the fact that Jesus is Lord, and in your hearts you believe that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For in their hearts people exercise the faith that leads to right standing, and with their lips they make the acknowledgment which means salvation.

Therefore, everyone who will own me before men I will own before my Father in heaven, but anyone who disowns me before men I will disown before my Father in heaven.

For whoever is ashamed of me and my teaching in this unfaithful, sinful age, then the Son of Man will be ashamed of him, when He comes back in His Father's splendor with the holy angels."

I tell you, everyone who owns me before men the Son of Man will own before the angels of God; but anyone who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God.

Now since I have the same spirit of faith as he who said in the Scriptures, "I believed, and so I spoke," I too believe, and so I speak,

No one who disowns the Son can have the Father. Whoever owns the Son has the Father too.

Whoever owns that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in union with him and he in union with God.

Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Then He began to ask them, "Who do you yourselves say that I am?" Peter answered Him, "You are the Christ."

So He said to them, "But who do you, yourselves, say that I am?" Peter answered, "The Christ of God!"

So they hurried to the place and found Joseph and Mary; also the baby lying in the manger. When they saw this, they informed them of the story that had been told about this child.

Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus. He first found his brother Simon and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which means, the Christ). Then he took him to Jesus. Jesus looked him over and said, "You are Simon, son of John. From now on your name shall be Cephas" (which means Peter, or Rock).

Nathaniel answered Him, "Teacher, you are the Son of God, you are the king of Israel!"

She said to Him, "Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world."

Thomas answered Him, "My Lord and my God!"

As Jesus was passing along from there, two blind men followed Him, shouting, "Do pity us, O Son of David!" After He had gone into the house, and the blind men had gone up to Him, Jesus said to them, "Do you really believe that I can do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." Then He touched their eyes, and said, "In accordance with your faith it must be done for you."read more.
And their eyes received strength to see. Then Jesus sternly charged them, "See that nobody knows it." But they went out and spread the news about Him all over that country.

There came to Him a leper, begging Him on his knees, saying to Him, "If you want to, you can cure me." And His heart was moved with pity for him, so He stretched out His hand and touched him, and said, "I do want to! Be cured!" And the leprosy at once left him, and he was cured.read more.
But Jesus at once drove him out of their presence, and gave him this stringent charge: "See that you tell nobody a single word about it. Be gone, show yourself to the priest, and to prove it to the people, make the offering for your purification which Moses prescribed." But he went out and began to publish it so much and to spread the story so far, that Jesus could not any more go into any town openly, but had to stay out in thinly settled places. But the people kept coming to Him from every quarter.

Then he answered, "I do not know whether He is a sinner. I do know one thing, that once I was blind but now I can see."

for we cannot keep from telling what we have seen and heard."
