because His divine power has given us everything that is needful for life and piety, through our full knowledge of Him who through His glory and excellence has called us to Him. It is through these that He has given us His precious and glorious promises, so that through them, after you have escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of evil desires, you may come to share in the divine nature.

So all the people were trying to touch Him, because power continued to go forth from Him and to cure them all.

He went to His own home town, and kept teaching in their synagogue in such a way that they were dumbfounded, and said, "Where did He get this wisdom and this power to do such wonder-works?

and said to his attendants, "This is John the Baptist. He has risen from the dead, and that is why the powers are at work through him."

King Herod heard of Him, for His name was now on everybody's lips, and people were saying that John the Baptist had risen from the dead, and that this was why such mighty powers were working in Him.

Jesus at once perceived that power had gone out of Him, and so He turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"

Still Jesus said, "Somebody touched me, for I felt it when the power passed from me."

Amazement then seized them all and they continued to talk it over among themselves, and to say, "What does this message mean? For with authority and power He gives orders to foul spirits, and they come out."

One day as He was teaching, there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Him to cure people.

how God consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and then He went about doing good and curing all who were overpowered by the devil, because God was with Him.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! The kings of the earth took their stand. The rulers met against the Lord, and too, against His Christ.' "For in this city they actually met against your holy Servant Jesus, whom you had consecrated -- Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the heathen and the peoples of Israel, to do all that your hand and will had predetermined to take place. And now, Lord, give attention to their threats and help your slaves with perfect courage to continue to speak your message, by stretching out your hand to cure people and to perform signs and wonders by the authority of your holy Servant Jesus." When they had prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and continued courageously to speak God's message.

for the weapons used in my warfare are not mere human ones, but through my God are mighty for demolishing fortresses.

For I am not ashamed of the good news, for it is God's power for the salvation of everyone who trusts, of the Jew first and then of the Greek.

For the Spirit that God has given us does not impart timidity but power and love and self-control. So you must never be ashamed of me His prisoner, but suffer for the good news in fellowship with me and by the power of God.

After that comes the end, when He will turn the kingdom over to God His Father, when He will put an end to all other government, authority, and power;

He thus stripped the principalities and dominions of power and made a public display of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

For our contest is not with human foes alone, but with the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark world; that is, with the spirit-forces of evil challenging us in the heavenly contest.

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "The salvation, power, and kingdom of our God, and the sovereignty of His Christ, have already come, because the accuser of our brothers, who always day and night accuses them before our God, has been hurled down.

They will stand a long way off for fear of her torture, saying, 'Alas! Alas for the great city, for Babylon the mighty city, because in a single day your judgment has overtaken you!'

And as God by His power raised the Lord to life, so He will raise us too.

Death is the last enemy to be stopped,

Since then the children mentioned share our mortal nature, He too took on Himself a full share of the same, in order that He by His death might put a stop to the power of him who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and set at liberty those who all their lifetime had been subject to slavery because of their dread of death.
