'Death' in the Bible

For there is no remembrance of You in death;who can thank You in Sheol?

Be gracious to me, Lord;consider my affliction at the hands of those who hate me.Lift me up from the gates of death,

Consider me and answer, Lord my God.Restore brightness to my eyes;otherwise, I will sleep in death.

The ropes of death were wrapped around me;the torrents of destruction terrified me.

The ropes of Sheol entangled me;the snares of death confronted me.

My strength is dried up like baked clay;my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth.You put me into the dust of death.

“What gain is there in my death,if I go down to the Pit?Will the dust praise You?Will it proclaim Your truth?

to deliver them from deathand to keep them alive in famine.

Evil brings death to the wicked,and those who hate the righteous will be punished.

Like sheep they are headed for Sheol;Death will shepherd them.The upright will rule over them in the morning,and their form will waste away in Sheol,far from their lofty abode.

My heart shudders within me;terrors of death sweep over me.

Let death take them by surprise;let them go down to Sheol alive,because evil is in their homes and within them.

For You delivered me from death,even my feet from stumbling,to walk before God in the light of life.

Our God is a God of salvation,and escape from death belongs to the Lord God.

He cleared a path for His anger.He did not spare them from deathbut delivered their lives to the plague.

From my youth,I have been afflicted and near death.I suffer Your horrors; I am desperate.

What man can live and never see death?Who can save himself from the power of Sheol?Selah

If the Lord had not been my helper,I would soon rest in the silence of death.

They band together against the life of the righteousand condemn the innocent to death.

They loathed all foodand came near the gates of death.

For he did not think to show kindness,but pursued the afflicted, poor, and brokenheartedin order to put them to death.

It is not the dead who praise the Lord,nor any of those descending into the silence of death.

For You, Lord, rescued me from death,my eyes from tears,my feet from stumbling.

The death of His faithful onesis valuable in the Lord’s sight.

The Lord disciplined me severelybut did not give me over to death.
