'Sour' in the Bible
“In those days, it will never again be said:The fathers have eaten sour grapes,and the children’s teeth are set on edge.
Rather, each will die for his own wrongdoing. Anyone who eats sour grapes—his own teeth will be set on edge.
“What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel:The fathers eat sour grapes,and the children’s teeth are set on edge?
Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge, filled it with sour wine, fixed it on a reed, and offered Him a drink.
Someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, fixed it on a reed, offered Him a drink, and said, “Let’s see if Elijah comes to take Him down!”
The soldiers also mocked Him. They came offering Him sour wine
A jar full of sour wine was sitting there; so they fixed a sponge full of sour wine on hyssop and held it up to His mouth.
When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” Then bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
