'New' in the Bible

May God give to you—from the dew of the skyand from the richness of the land—an abundance of grain and new wine.

But Isaac answered Esau: “Look, I have made him a master over you, have given him all of his relatives as his servants, and have sustained him with grain and new wine. What then can I do for you, my son?”

A new king, who had not known Joseph, came to power in Egypt.

You must not eat bread, roasted grain, or any new grain until this very day, and until you have brought the offering to your God. This is to be a permanent statute throughout your generations wherever you live.

You are to count 50 days until the day after the seventh Sabbath and then present an offering of new grain to the Lord.

You will eat the old grain of the previous year and will clear out the old to make room for the new.

I am giving you all the best of the fresh olive oil, new wine, and grain, which the Israelites give to the Lord as their firstfruits.

“On the day of firstfruits, you are to hold a sacred assembly when you present an offering of new grain to the Lord at your Festival of Weeks; you are not to do any daily work.

He will love you, bless you, and multiply you. He will bless your descendants, and the produce of your land—your grain, new wine, and oil—the young of your herds, and the newborn of your flocks, in the land He swore to your fathers that He would give you.

I will provide rain for your land in the proper time, the autumn and spring rains, and you will harvest your grain, new wine, and oil.

Within your gates you may not eat: the tenth of your grain, new wine, or oil; the firstborn of your herd or flock; any of your vow offerings that you pledge; your freewill offerings; or your personal contributions.

You are to eat a tenth of your grain, new wine, and oil, and the firstborn of your herd and flock, in the presence of Yahweh your God at the place where He chooses to have His name dwell, so that you will always learn to fear the Lord your God.

You are to give him the firstfruits of your grain, new wine, and oil, and the first sheared wool of your flock.

“The officers are to address the army, ‘Has any man built a new house and not dedicated it? Let him leave and return home. Otherwise, he may die in battle and another man dedicate it.

If you build a new house, make a railing around your roof, so that you don’t bring bloodguilt on your house if someone falls from it.

They will eat the offspring of your livestock and your land’s produce until you are destroyed. They will leave you no grain, new wine, oil, young of your herds, or newborn of your flocks until they cause you to perish.

Let my teaching fall like rainand my word settle like dew,like gentle rain on new grassand showers on tender plants.

They sacrificed to demons, not God,to gods they had not known,new gods that had just arrived,which your fathers did not fear.

So Israel dwells securely;Jacob lives untroubledin a land of grain and new wine;even his skies drip with dew.

He got up from the table in fierce anger and did not eat any food that second day of the New Moon, for he was grieved because of his father’s shameful behavior toward David.

At Abinadab’s house they set the ark of God on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio were guiding the cart.

Whenever burnt offerings are offered to the Lord on the Sabbaths, New Moons, and appointed festivals, they are to do so regularly in the Lord’s presence according to the number prescribed for them.

Now I am building a temple for the name of Yahweh my God in order to dedicate it to Him for burning fragrant incense before Him, for displaying the rows of the bread of the Presence continuously, and for sacrificing burnt offerings for the morning and the evening, the Sabbaths and the New Moons, and the appointed festivals of the Lord our God. This is ordained for Israel forever.

He followed the daily requirement for offerings according to the commandment of Moses for Sabbaths, New Moons, and the three annual appointed festivals: the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Booths.

Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem in the Lord’s temple before the new courtyard.

The king contributed from his own possessions for the regular morning and evening burnt offerings, the burnt offerings of the Sabbaths, of the New Moons, and of the appointed feasts, as written in the law of the Lord.

But now, for a brief moment, grace has come from Yahweh our God to preserve a remnant for us and give us a stake in His holy place. Even in our slavery, God has given us new life and light to our eyes.

Though we are slaves, our God has not abandoned us in our slavery. He has extended grace to us in the presence of the Persian kings, giving us new life, so that we can rebuild the house of our God and repair its ruins, to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem.

Return their fields, vineyards, olive groves, and houses to them immediately, along with the percentage of the money, grain, new wine, and olive oil that you have been assessing them.”

the bread displayed before the Lord, the daily grain offering, the regular burnt offering, the Sabbath and New Moon offerings, the appointed festivals, the holy things, the sin offerings to atone for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.

We will bring a loaf from our first batch of dough to the priests at the storerooms of the house of our God. We will also bring the firstfruits of our grain offerings, of every fruit tree, and of the new wine and oil. A tenth of our land’s produce belongs to the Levites, for the Levites are to collect the one-tenth offering in all our agricultural towns.

For the Israelites and the Levites are to bring the contributions of grain, new wine, and oil to the storerooms where the articles of the sanctuary are kept and where the priests who minister are, along with the gatekeepers and singers. We will not neglect the house of our God.

and had prepared a large room for him where they had previously stored the grain offerings, the frankincense, the articles, and the tenths of grain, new wine, and oil prescribed for the Levites, singers, and gatekeepers, along with the contributions for the priests.

Then all Judah brought a tenth of the grain, new wine, and oil into the storehouses.

You produce new witnesses against meand multiply Your anger toward me.Hardships assault me, wave after wave.

My heart is like unvented wine;it is about to burst like new wineskins.

A psalm.Sing a new song to the Lord,for He has performed wonders;His right hand and holy armhave won Him victory.

then your barns will be completely filled,and your vats will overflow with new wine.

When hay is removed and new growth appearsand the grain from the hills is gathered in,

What has been is what will be,and what has been done is what will be done;there is nothing new under the sun.

Can one say about anything,“Look, this is new”?It has already existed in the ages before us.

The mandrakes give off a fragrance,and at our doors is every delicacy—new as well as old.I have treasured them up for you, my love. >

Stop bringing useless offerings.Your incense is detestable to Me.New Moons and Sabbaths,and the calling of solemn assemblies—I cannot stand iniquity with a festival.

I hate your New Moons and prescribed festivals.They have become a burden to Me;I am tired of putting up with them.

The new wine mourns;the vine withers.All the carousers now groan.

until I come and take you away to a land like your own land—a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.

See, I will make you into a sharp threshing board,new, with many teeth.You will thresh mountains and pulverize themand make hills into chaff.

The past events have indeed happened.Now I declare new events;I announce them to you before they occur.”

Sing a new song to the Lord;sing His praise from the ends of the earth,you who go down to the sea with all that fills it,you islands with your inhabitants.

Look, I am about to do something new;even now it is coming. Do you not see it?Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness,rivers in the desert.

You have heard it. Observe it all.Will you not acknowledge it?From now on I will announce new things to you,hidden things that you have not known.

Therefore, I will give their wives to other men,their fields to new occupants,for from the least to the greatest,everyone is making profit dishonestly.From prophet to priest,everyone deals falsely.

Yet My people have forgotten Me.They burn incense to false idolsthat make them stumble in their wayson the ancient roadsand walk on new paths, not the highway.

When the officials of Judah heard these things, they went from the king’s palace to the Lord’s temple and sat at the entrance of the New Gate.

They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion;they will be radiant with joybecause of the Lord’s goodness,because of the grain, the new wine, the fresh oil,and because of the young of the flocks and herds.Their life will be like an irrigated garden,and they will no longer grow weak from hunger.

How long will you turn here and there,faithless daughter?For the Lord creates something new in the land—a female will shelter a man.

“Look, the days are coming”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

Then at the Lord’s temple, in the chamber of Gemariah son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper courtyard at the opening of the New Gate of the Lord’s temple, in the hearing of all the people, Baruch read Jeremiah’s words from the scroll.

Then the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings for the festivals, New Moons, and Sabbaths—for all the appointed times of the house of Israel—will be the prince’s responsibility. He will provide the sin offerings, grain offerings, burnt offerings, and fellowship offerings to make atonement on behalf of the house of Israel.

“This is what the Lord God says: The gate of the inner court that faces east must be closed during the six days of work, but it will be opened on the Sabbath day and opened on the day of the New Moon.

The people of the land will also bow in worship before the Lord at the entrance of that gate on the Sabbaths and New Moons.

On the day of the New Moon, the burnt offering is to be a young, unblemished bull, as well as six lambs and a ram without blemish.

Therefore, I will take back My grain in its timeand My new wine in its season;I will take away My wool and linen,which were to cover her nakedness.
