Concerning The Collection For The Saints

1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, you should follow the directions I gave to the churches in Galatia.

1 Now concerning (A)the collection for (B)the saints, as (C)I directed the churches of (D)Galatia, so do you also.

1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.

1 Now about the collection(A) for the saints: You should do the same as I instructed the Galatian(B) churches.

1 Now concerning the money collected for [the relief of] the saints [in Jerusalem], you are to do the same as I directed the churches of Galatia to do.

2 After the Sabbath ends, each of you should set aside and save something from your surplus in proportion to what you have, so that no collections will have to be made when I arrive.

2 On (E)the first day of every week each one of you is to (a)put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that (F)no collections be made when I come.

2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

2 On the first day of the week,(a)(C) each of you is to set something aside and save in keeping with how he prospers, so that no collections will need to be made when I come.(D)

2 On the first day of every week each one of you is to put something aside, in proportion to his prosperity, and save it so that no collections [will need to] be made when I come.

3 When I arrive, I will send letters along with the men you approve to take your gift to Jerusalem.

3 When I arrive, (G)whomever you may approve, I will send them with letters to carry your gift to Jerusalem;

3 And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.

3 When I arrive, I will send with letters(E) those you recommend to carry your gracious gift to Jerusalem.(F)

3 When I arrive, I will send whomever you approve with letters [of authorization] to take your gift [of charity and love] to Jerusalem;

4 If it is worthwhile for me to go, too, they can go with me.

4 and if it is fitting for me to go also, they will go with me.

4 And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me.

4 If it is suitable for me to go as well, they can travel with me.

4 and if it is fitting for me to go too, they will accompany me.

Travel Plans For Paul And Associates

5 I will visit you when I go through Macedonia for I intend to go through Macedonia

5 But I (H)will come to you after I go through (I)Macedonia, for I (J)am going through Macedonia;

5 Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia.

5 I will come to you after I pass through Macedonia(G)—for I will be traveling through Macedonia—

5 I will visit you after I go through Macedonia, for I am only passing through Macedonia;

6 and will probably stay with you for a while or even spend the winter with you. Then you can send me on my way, wherever I decide to go.

6 and perhaps I will stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you may (K)send me on my way wherever I may go.

6 And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go.

6 and perhaps I will remain with you or even spend the winter, so that you may send me on my way wherever I go.

6 but it may be that I will stay with you [for a while], or even spend the winter, so that you may send me on my way to wherever I may go afterward.

7 I do not want to visit with you now just in passing, because I hope to spend a longer time with you if the Lord permits.

7 For I do not wish to see you now (L)just in passing; for I hope to remain with you for some time, (M)if the Lord permits.

7 For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.

7 I don’t want to see you now just in passing, for I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord allows.(H)

7 For I do not wish to see you right now just in passing, but I hope to remain with you for some time [later on], if the Lord permits.

8 However, I'll stay on in Ephesus until Pentecost,

8 But I will remain in (N)Ephesus until (O)Pentecost;

8 But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.

8 But I will stay in Ephesus(I) until Pentecost,(J)

8 But I will stay in Ephesus until (a)Pentecost,

9 because a door has opened wide for me to do effective work, although many people are opposing me.

9 for a (P)wide door (b)for effective service has opened to me, and (Q)there are many adversaries.

9 For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

9 because a wide door(K) for effective ministry has opened for me(b)—yet many oppose me.

9 because a wide door for effective service has opened to me [in Ephesus, a very promising opportunity], and there are many adversaries.(A)

News About Timothy, Apollos, And Others

10 If Timothy comes, see to it that he does not have anything to be afraid of while he is with you, for he is doing the Lord's work as I am.

10 Now if (R)Timothy comes, see that he is with you without (c)cause to be afraid, for he is doing (S)the Lord’s work, as I also am.

10 Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.

10 If Timothy comes, see that he has nothing to fear from you, because he is doing the Lord’s work,(L) just as I am.

10 If Timothy comes, see to it that [you put him at ease, so that] he has nothing to fear in regard to you, for he is [devotedly] doing the Lord’s work, just as I am.

11 Therefore, no one should treat him with contempt. Send him on his way in peace so that he may come to me, because I am expecting him along with the brothers.

11 (T)So let no one despise him. But (U)send him on his way (V)in peace, so that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brethren.

11 Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.

11 Therefore, no one should look down(M) on him. Send him on his way in peace so he can come to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers.(c)

11 So allow no one to treat him with disdain [as if he were inconsequential]. But send him off [cordially, and speed him on his way] in peace, so that he may come to me, for I am expecting him [to come along] with the other brothers.

12 Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but he was not inclined to do so just now. However, he will visit you when the time is right.

12 But concerning (W)Apollos our brother, I encouraged him greatly to come to you with the brethren; and it was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has opportunity.

12 As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.

12 About our brother Apollos:(N) I strongly urged him to come to you with the brothers, but he was not at all willing to come now. However, he will come when he has an opportunity.

12 As for our brother Apollos, I have strongly encouraged him to visit you with the other brothers. It was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has the opportunity.
