¹⁴ But if ye even suffer for righteousness sake, happy are ye. And be not afraid at their terrors, nor alarmed; ¹⁵ but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. And be ready always to give an answer to every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, but with meekness and fear; ¹⁶ having a good conscience, that, wherein ye are evil spoken of, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conduct in Christ.
