Let no foul language proceed out of your mouth, but whatever is good for edification, as the need may be, that it may benefit the hearers; and grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye were sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evilspeaking, be put away from you, with all malice;

neither obscenity, nor foolish talking, nor indecent jesting, which are not becoming; but rather giving of thanks.

but now put ye away all these, anger, wrath, malice, evilspeaking, filthy language out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, who is renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him;

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every one.

but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. And be ready always to give an answer to every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, but with meekness and fear;

being slandered, we exhort; we have become as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now.

But let your language be, Yea, yea; Nay; nay; for whatever is more than these cometh of evil.
