Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.
the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began contradicting the things spoken by Paul, and were blaspheming.
So he was reasoning
in the synagogue with the Jews and the God-fearing Gentiles, and in the market place every day with those who happened to be present.
And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another
I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You.
as I punished them often in all the synagogues, I tried to force them to blaspheme; and being furiously enraged at them, I kept pursuing them even to foreign cities.
But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues;

“But be on your guard; for they will deliver you to the courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them.
“But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name’s sake.
Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya around Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
But there were some of them, men of
Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Greeks also, preaching the Lord Jesus.
Now there were at
Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
As they were coming out, they found a man of Cyrene named Simon, whom they pressed into service to bear His cross.
Now a Jew named
Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus; and he was mighty in the Scriptures.
There the centurion found an
Alexandrian ship sailing for Italy, and he put us aboard it.
sent this letter by them,
“ The apostles and the brethren who are elders, to
the brethren in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia who are from the Gentiles, greetings.
But Paul said, “
I am a Jew of Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no insignificant city; and I beg you, allow me to speak to the people.”
I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated under Gamaliel, strictly according to the law of our fathers, being zealous for God just as you all are today.
When he had read it, he asked from what
province he was, and when he learned that he was from Cilicia,
When we had sailed through the sea along the coast of
Cilicia and Pamphylia, we landed at Myra in Lycia.
