The Altar Of Burnt Offering

1 And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.

1 “And you shall make (A)the altar of acacia wood, five (a)cubits long and five cubits wide; the altar shall be square, and its height shall be three cubits.

1 “You(A) are to construct the altar of acacia wood. The altar must be square, 7½ feet long, and 7½ feet wide;(a) it must be 4½ feet high.(b)

1 "You are to make the altar of acacia wood. It is to be five cubits long and five cubits wide; the altar is to be a square, and it is to be three cubits high.

1 “And you shall make the altar [for burnt offerings] of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits wide; the altar shall be square, and its height shall be three cubits.

2 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass.

2 You shall make (B)its horns on its four corners; its horns shall be of one piece with it, and you shall overlay it with (b)bronze.

2 You are to make horns on its four corners. Its corners are to be of one piece with it, and you are to overlay it with bronze.

2 Make horns (horn-shaped projections) for it on its four corners; the horns shall be of one piece with it, and you shall overlay it with bronze.

3 And thou shalt make his pans to receive his ashes, and his shovels, and his basons, and his fleshhooks, and his firepans: all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass.

3 You shall make its pails for removing its ashes, and its shovels and its basins and its forks and its firepans; you shall make all its utensils of bronze.

3 Make its pots for removing ashes, and its shovels, basins, meat forks, and firepans; make all its utensils of bronze.

3 You are to make pans for removing its ashes, shovels, bowls, forks, and fire-pans for it, and you are to make all its utensils of bronze.

3 You shall make pots to remove its ashes, and shovels, basins [to catch the blood of the sacrificed animal], meat-forks, and firepans [to store live coals]. You shall make all its utensils of bronze.

4 And thou shalt make for it a grate of network of brass; and upon the net shalt thou make four brasen rings in the four corners thereof.

4 You shall make for it a grating of network of bronze, and on the net you shall make four bronze rings (c)at its four corners.

4 Construct a grate for it of bronze mesh, and make four bronze rings on the mesh at its four corners.

4 You are to make a lattice, a netting of bronze for it, and you are to make four bronze rings on the netting at its four corners.

4 Also make a grate for it, a network of bronze; and on the grid you are to make four bronze rings at its four corners.

5 And thou shalt put it under the compass of the altar beneath, that the net may be even to the midst of the altar.

5 You shall put it beneath, under the ledge of the altar, so that the net will reach halfway up the altar.

5 Set it below, under the altar’s ledge,(d) so that the mesh comes halfway up(e) the altar.

5 You are to put it under the ledge of the altar, so that the netting extends halfway up the altar.

5 And you shall put it under the ledge of the altar, so that the grid will extend halfway up the altar.

6 And thou shalt make staves for the altar, staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with brass.

6 You shall make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with bronze.

6 Then make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with bronze.

6 You are to make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and you are to overlay them with bronze.

6 You shall make [carrying] poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, overlaid with bronze.

7 And the staves shall be put into the rings, and the staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, to bear it.

7 Its poles shall be inserted into the rings, so that the poles shall be on the two sides of the altar (C)when it is carried.

7 The poles are to be inserted into the rings so that the poles are on two sides of the altar when it is carried.

7 The poles for it are to be put through the rings, so the poles are on the two sides of the altar when it's carried.

7 The poles shall be inserted through the rings on the two sides of the altar so that it may be carried.(A)

8 Hollow with boards shalt thou make it: as it was shewed thee in the mount, so shall they make it.

8 You shall make it hollow with planks; (D)as it was shown to you in the mountain, so they shall make it.

8 Construct the altar with boards so that it is hollow. They are to make it just as it was shown to you on the mountain.(C)

8 You are to make it hollow out of boards just as it was shown you on the mountain, that's how they are to make it."

8 You are to make the altar hollow with planks; as you were shown on the mountain [of Sinai], so shall it be made.

The Courtyard

9 And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side:

9 “You shall make (E)the court of the (d)tabernacle. (e)On the south side there shall be hangings for the court of fine twisted linen one hundred cubits long for one side;

9 “You(D) are to make the courtyard for the tabernacle. Make the hangings on the south of the courtyard out of finely spun linen, 150 feet(f) long on that side.

9 "You are to make the court of the tent. On the south side there is to be hangings of fine woven linen for the court, 100 cubits long on one side.

9 “You shall make the court of the tabernacle. The south side of the court is to have curtains of fine twisted linen, a hundred cubits long for one side;

10 And the twenty pillars thereof and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.

10 and its pillars shall be twenty, with their twenty (f)sockets of bronze; the hooks of the pillars and their (g)bands shall be of silver.

10 There are to be 20 posts and 20 bronze bases. The hooks and bands(g) of the posts must be silver.

10 It is to have 20 pillars, with 20 bronze sockets, and the hooks of the pillars and their bands are to be made of silver.

10 it shall have twenty pillars and twenty bronze sockets; but the hooks of the pillars and their fasteners shall be silver;

11 And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars and their twenty sockets of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

11 Likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings one hundred cubits long, and its twenty pillars with their twenty (h)sockets of bronze; the hooks of the pillars and their bands shall be of silver.

11 Then make the hangings on the north side 150 feet(h) long. There are to be 20 posts and 20 bronze bases. The hooks and bands(i) of the posts must be silver.

11 Likewise for the length of the north side there are to be hangings 100 cubits long, and it is to have 20 pillars with 20 bronze sockets, and the hooks of the pillars and their bands are to be made of silver.

11 likewise for the north side there shall be curtains, a hundred cubits long, and its twenty pillars and twenty bronze sockets; but the hooks of the pillars and their fasteners shall be silver.

12 And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.

12 For the width of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits with their ten pillars and their ten (i)sockets.

12 Make the hangings of the courtyard on the west side 75 feet(j) long, including their 10 posts and 10 bases.

12 "The width of the court on the west side is to have hangings 50 cubits long with ten pillars and ten sockets.

12 For the width of the court on the west side there shall be curtains of fifty cubits, with ten pillars (support poles) and ten sockets.

13 And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.

13 The width of the court on the (j)east side shall be fifty cubits.

13 Make the hangings of the courtyard on the east side toward the sunrise 75 feet.(k)

13 The width of the court on the east side is to be 50 cubits.

13 The width of the court [to the front], on the east side shall be fifty cubits.

14 The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

14 The hangings for the one (k)side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits with their three pillars and their three (l)sockets.

14 Make the hangings on one side of the gate 22½ feet,(l) including their three posts and their three bases.

14 The hangings for the one section are to be fifteen cubits long, with their three pillars and three sockets.

14 The curtains for one side [of the gate] shall be fifteen cubits with three pillars and three sockets.

15 And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

15 And for the (m)other (n)side shall be hangings of fifteen cubits with their three pillars and their three (o)sockets.

15 And make the hangings on the other side 22½ feet,(m) including their three posts and their three bases.

15 "For the second section there are to be hangings of fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and three sockets.

15 On the other side [of the gate] the curtains shall be fifteen cubits with three pillars and three sockets.

16 And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.

16 For the gate of the court there shall be a screen of twenty cubits, of (p)blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen, the work of a (q)weaver, with their four pillars and their four (r)sockets.

16 The gate of the courtyard is to have a thirty-foot(n) screen(E) embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen. It is to have four posts including their four bases.

16 There is to be a screen of 20 cubits of blue, purple, and scarlet material and fine woven linen, the work of an embroiderer, for the gate of the court, and it is to have four pillars and four sockets.

16 For the gate of the court there shall be a screen [to provide a covering] of twenty cubits, of blue, purple, and scarlet fabric and finely woven [embroidered] linen, the work of an embroiderer, with four pillars and four [base] sockets.

17 All the pillars round about the court shall be filleted with silver; their hooks shall be of silver, and their sockets of brass.

17 All the pillars around the court shall be furnished with silver bands with their hooks of silver and their (s)sockets of bronze.

17 “All the posts around the courtyard are to be banded with silver and have silver hooks and bronze bases.

17 All the pillars around the court are to be banded with silver. Their hooks are to be made of silver and their sockets made of bronze.

17 All the pillars (support poles) around the court shall be joined together with silver rods; their hooks shall be of silver and their sockets of bronze.

18 The length of the court shall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.

18 The length of the court shall be one hundred cubits, and the width fifty throughout, and the height five cubits of fine twisted linen, and their (t)sockets of bronze.

18 The length of the courtyard is to be 150 feet, the width 75 feet at each end, and the height 7½ feet,(o) all of it made of finely spun linen. The bases of the posts must be bronze.

18 The length of the court is to be 100 cubits, the width 50 cubits, and the height five cubits, with the hangings of fine woven linen, and the sockets of bronze.

18 The length of the court shall be a hundred cubits, and the width fifty [cubits] throughout, and the height five cubits of fine twisted linen, and their sockets of bronze.

19 All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.

19 All the utensils of the tabernacle used in all its service, and all its pegs, and all the pegs of the court, shall be of bronze.

19 All the tools of the tabernacle for every use and all its tent pegs as well as all the tent pegs of the courtyard are to be made of bronze.

19 All the utensils of the tent for its service, all its pegs, and all the pegs for the court are to be made of bronze."

19 All the tabernacle’s utensils and instruments used in all its service, and all its stakes, and all the stakes for the court, shall be of bronze.

The Lampstand Oil

20 And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.

20 “You shall charge the sons of Israel, that they bring you (F)clear oil of beaten olives for the (u)light, to make a lamp (v)burn continually.

20 “You are to command the Israelites to bring you pure oil from crushed olives for the light, in order to keep the lamp burning continually.

20 "And you are to command the Israelis to bring you pure olive oil, extracted by hand, for the light in order to keep the lamp burning continuously.

20 “You shall command the Israelites to provide you with clear oil of beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually [every night].

21 In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

21 In the (G)tent of meeting, outside (H)the veil which is before the testimony, (I)Aaron and his sons shall keep it in order from evening to morning before the Lord; it shall be a perpetual (J)statute throughout their generations (w)for the sons of Israel.

21 In the tent of meeting outside the veil that is in front of the testimony,(F) Aaron and his sons are to tend the lamp(G) from evening until morning before the Lord. This is to be a permanent statute(H) for the Israelites throughout their generations.

21 In the Tent of Meeting, outside the curtain that is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons are to maintain the lamp stand from evening until morning in the LORD's presence. It is to be a perpetual ordinance from generation to generation among the Israelis."

21 In the Tent of Meeting [of God with His people], outside the veil which is in front of the [ark of the] Testimony [and sets it apart], Aaron [the high priest] and his sons shall keep the lamp burning from evening to morning before the Lord. It shall be a perpetual statute [to be observed] throughout their generations on behalf of the Israelites.
