As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
Now he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, and behold, he
pledged his allegiance, yet did all these things; he shall not escape.’”
For thus says the Lord God, “I will also do with you as you have done, you who have
despised the oath by breaking the covenant.
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
If a man makes a vow to the Lord, or takes an oath to bind himself with a binding obligation, he shall not violate his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.
This we will do to them, even let them live, so that wrath will not be upon us for the oath which we swore to them.”
2 Samuel 21:2
So the king called the Gibeonites and spoke to them (now the Gibeonites were not of the sons of Israel but of the remnant of the Amorites, and
the sons of Israel made a covenant with them, but Saul had sought to kill them in his zeal for the sons of Israel and Judah).
In whose eyes a reprobate is despised,
who honors those who fear the Lord;
swears to his own hurt and does not change;
But if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite your whole territory with frogs.
They speak mere words, With worthless oaths they make covenants;
judgment sprouts like poisonous weeds in the furrows of the field.
Then he said to me, “This is the
curse that is going forth over the face of the whole land; surely everyone who steals will be purged away according to the writing on one side, and everyone who swears will be purged away according to the writing on the other side.
“Then I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the
sorcerers and against the adulterers and against those who swear falsely, and against those who oppress the wage earner in his wages, the widow and the orphan, and those who turn aside the alien and do not fear Me,” says the Lord of hosts.
without understanding, untrustworthy,
1 Timothy 1:10
and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching,

unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
Behold, though it is planted, will it thrive? Will it not
completely wither as soon as the east wind strikes it—wither on the beds where it grew?”’”
I will also spread My
net over him, and he will be caught in My snare. And I will bring him to Babylon in the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will not see it, though he will die there.
and Zedekiah king of Judah will
not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but he will surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye;
You will not escape from his hand, for you will surely be captured and delivered into his hand; and you will see the king of Babylon eye to eye, and he will speak with you face to face, and you will go to Babylon.’”’
blinded Zedekiah’s eyes and bound him in fetters of bronze to bring him to Babylon.
blinded the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him with bronze fetters and brought him to Babylon and put him in prison until the day of his death.
