Judgment And Salvation

1 They shall seek me, that hitherto have not asked for me, they shall find me, that hitherto have not sought me. Then shall I say immediately to the people that never called upon my name, "I am here, I am here."

1 “I permitted Myself to be sought by (A)those who did not ask for Me;I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me.I said, ‘Here am I, here am I,’To a nation which (B)did not call on My name.

1 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

1 “I was sought by those who did not ask;(a)I was found by those who did not seek Me.I said: Here I am, here I am,to a nation that was not called by(b) My name.(A)

1 "I let myself be sought by those who didn't ask for me; I let myself be found by those who didn't seek me. I said, "Here I am! Here I am!' to a nation that didn't call on my name.

2 For thus long have I ever holden out my hands to an unfaithful people, that go not the right way, but after their own imaginations:

2 (C)I have spread out My hands all day long to a (D)rebellious people,Who walk in the way which is not good, (a)following their own (E)thoughts,

2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

2 I spread out My hands all day longto a rebellious people(B)who walk in the wrong path,following their own thoughts.

2 I held out my hands all day long to a disobedient people, who walk in a way that isn't good, following their own inclinations

3 To a people that is ever defying me to my face. They make their oblations in gardens, and their smoke upon altars of brick;

3 A people who continually (F)provoke Me to My face,Offering sacrifices in (G)gardens and (H)burning incense on bricks;

3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;

3 These people continually provoke Meto My face,sacrificing in gardens,(C)burning incense on bricks,

3 a people who continually provoke me to my face; they keep sacrificing in gardens and waving their hands over stone altars;

4 they lurk among the graves, and lie in the dens all night. They eat swine flesh, and unclean broth is in their vessels.

4 Who sit among graves and spend the night in secret places;Who (I)eat swine’s flesh,And the broth of unclean meat is in their pots.

4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

4 sitting among the graves,spending nights in secret places,eating the meat of pigs,(D)and putting polluted broth in their bowls.(c)

4 who sit among graves, and spend the night in secret places; who eat pigs' meat, with the broth of detestable things in their pots;

5 If thou comest nigh them, they say, "Touch me not, for I am holier than thou." All these men when I am angry, shall be turned to smoke and fire, that shall burn forever.

5 “Who say, ‘(J)Keep to yourself, do not come near me,For I am holier than you!’These are smoke in My (b)nostrils,A fire that burns all the day.

5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

5 They say, ‘Keep to yourself,don’t come near me, for I am too holy for you!’These practices are smoke in My nostrils,a fire that burns all day long.

5 who say, "Keep to yourself!' "Don't touch me!' and "I am too holy for you!' "Such people are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that keeps burning all day long.

6 Behold, it is written before my face, and shall not be forgotten, but recompensed. I shall reward it them into their bosom:

6 “Behold, it is written before Me,I will (K)not keep silent, but (L)I will repay;I will even repay into their bosom,

6 Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,

6 It is written before Me:I will not keep silent,(E) but I will repay;(F)I will repay them fully(d)

6 Watch out! It stands written before me: "I won't keep silent, but I will pay back in full; I'll indeed repay into their laps

7 I mean your misdeeds, and the misdeeds of your fathers together, sayeth the LORD, which have made their smokes upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their old deeds into their bosom again.

7 Both (c)their own (M)iniquities and the iniquities of their fathers together,” says the Lord.“Because they have (N)burned incense on the mountainsAnd (O)scorned Me on the hills,Therefore I will (P)measure their former work into their bosom.”

7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.

7 for your iniquities and the iniquities(G)of your(e) fathers together,”says the Lord.“Because they burned incense on the mountainsand reproached Me on the hills,(H)I will reward them fully(f)for their former deeds.”

7 both your iniquities and your ancestors' iniquities together,'' says the LORD. "Because they offered incense on the mountains and insulted me on hills, I'll measure into their laps full payment for their earlier actions."

8 Moreover, thus sayeth the LORD: like as when one would gather holy grapes, men say unto him, "Break it not off, for it is holy," even so will I do also for my servants' sakes, that I will not destroy them all.

8 Thus says the Lord,“As the new wine is found in the cluster,And one says, ‘Do not destroy it, for there is (d)benefit in it,’So I will act on behalf of My servantsIn order (Q)not to destroy (e)all of them.

8 Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.

8 The Lord says this:As the new wine is found in a bunch of grapes,and one says, ‘Don’t destroy it,for there’s some good(g) in it,’so I will act because of My servantsand not destroy them all.

8 This is what the LORD says: "Just as new wine is found in the cluster, and people have said, "Don't destroy it, for there is a gift in it,' so I'll act for my servants' sake, by not destroying them all.

9 But I will take a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah, one to take possession of my hill. My chosen shall possess these things, and my servants shall dwell there.

9 “I will bring forth (R)offspring from Jacob,And an (S)heir of My mountains from Judah;Even (T)My chosen ones shall inherit it,And (U)My servants will dwell there.

9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

9 I will produce descendants from Jacob,(I)and heirs to My mountains from Judah;My chosen(J) ones will possess it,and My servants will dwell there.(K)

9 I'll bring forth descendants from Jacob, and from Judah they will inherit my mountains; my chosen people will inherit it, and my servants will live there.

10 Sharon shall be a sheepfold, and the valley of Achor shall give the stalling for the cattle of my people, that fear me.

10 (V)Sharon will be a pasture land for flocks,And the (W)valley of Achor a resting place for herds,For My people who (X)seek Me.

10 And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.

10 Sharon will be a pasture for flocks,(L)and the Valley of Achor a place for cattle to lie down,(M)for My people who have sought Me.(N)

10 Sharon will become a pasture for flocks, and the Valley of Achor a fold for herds, for my people who have sought me.

11 But as for you, ye are they that have forsaken the LORD, and forgotten my holy hill. Ye have set up an altar to Fortune, and given rich drink offerings unto the planets.

11 “But you who (Y)forsake the Lord,Who forget My (Z)holy mountain,Who set a table for (f)Fortune,And who fill cups with mixed wine for (g)Destiny,

11 But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.

11 But you who abandon the Lord,who forget My holy mountain,who prepare a table for Fortuneand fill bowls of mixed wine for Destiny,(h)

11 But as for you who forsake the LORD, who forget my holy mountain, who spread a table for Fortune and fill drink offerings for Destiny,

12 Therefore will I number you with the sword, that ye shall be destroyed all together. For when I called, no man gave me answer: when I spake, ye hearkened not unto me, but did wickedness before mine eyes, and chose the thing that pleased me not.

12 I will destine you for the (AA)sword,And all of you will bow down to the (AB)slaughter.Because I called, but you (AC)did not answer;I spoke, but you did not hear.And you did evil in My sightAnd chose that in which I did not delight.”

12 Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.

12 I will destine you for the sword,and all of you will kneel down to be slaughtered,because I called and you did not answer,I spoke and you did not hear;you did what was evil in My sightand chose what I did not delight in.(O)

12 I'll consign you to the sword, and all of you will bend down for the slaughter because when I called, you didn't answer, when I spoke, you didn't listen; but you did what was evil in my sight, and chose what I took no pleasure in."

13 Therefore thus sayeth the LORD God: Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall have hunger. Behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall suffer thirst. Behold, my servants shall be merry, but ye shall be confounded.

13 Therefore, thus says the Lord (h)God,“Behold, My servants will (AD)eat, but you will be (AE)hungry.Behold, My servants will (AF)drink, but you will be (AG)thirsty.Behold, My servants will (AH)rejoice, but you will be (AI)put to shame.

13 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:

13 Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:My servants will eat,but you will be hungry;My servants will drink,but you will be thirsty;My servants will rejoice,but you will be put to shame.

13 Therefore, this is what the LORD says: "See, my servants will eat, but you'll go hungry; my servants will drink, but you'll go thirsty; my servants will rejoice, but you'll be put to shame.

14 Behold, my servants shall rejoice for very quietness of heart: But ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and complain for vexation of mind.

14 “Behold, My servants will (AJ)shout joyfully with a glad heart,But you will (AK)cry out with a (i)heavy heart,And you will wail with a broken spirit.

14 Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

14 My servants will shout for joy from a glad heart,but you will cry out from an anguished heart,and you will lament out of a broken spirit.

14 My servants will sing in gladness of heart, but you'll cry for help from anguish of heart, and you'll howl from brokenness of spirit.

15 Your name shall not be sworn by among my chosen, for God the LORD shall slay you, and call his servants by another name.

15 “You will leave your name for a (AL)curse to My chosen ones,And the Lord (j)God will slay you.But (k)My servants will be called by (AM)another name.

15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:

15 You will leave your name behindas a curse for My chosen ones,(P)and the Lord God will kill you;but He will give His servants another name.(Q)

15 You'll leave your name to my chosen ones as a curse, and the Lord GOD will put you to death permanently.

16 Whoso rejoiceth upon earth, shall rejoice in the true God: And whoso sweareth upon earth, shall swear in the true God. For the old enmity shall be forgotten, and taken away out of my sight.

16 “Because he who (l)is blessed in the earthWill (m)be blessed by the (AN)God of truth;And he who swears in the earthWill (AO)swear by the God of truth;Because the former troubles are forgotten,And because they are hidden from My sight!

16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.

16 Whoever is blessed in the landwill be blessed by the God of truth,(R)and whoever swears in the landwill swear by the God of truth.For the former troubles will be forgottenand hidden from My sight.

16 Then whoever takes an oath by the God of faithfulness, and whoever takes an oath in the land, will swear by the God of faithfulness, because the former troubles are forgotten and are hidden from my eyes.

New Creation

17 For lo, I shall make a new heaven, and a new earth. And as for the old, they shall never be thought upon, nor kept in mind:

17 “For behold, I create (AP)new heavens and a new earth;And the (AQ)former things will not be remembered or come to (n)mind.

17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

17 “For I will create a new heaven and a new earth;(S)the past events will not be remembered or come to mind.

17 Take notice! I'm about to create new heavens and a new earth; the former things won't be remembered, nor will they come to mind.

18 but men shall be glad and evermore rejoice, for the things that I shall do. For why? Behold, I shall make a joyful Jerusalem;

18 “But be (AR)glad and rejoice forever in what I create;For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicingAnd her people for gladness.

18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

18 Then be glad and rejoice foreverin what I am creating;for I will create Jerusalem to be a joyand its people to be a delight.

18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I am creating, for I am about to create Jerusalem as a joy, and its people as a delight.

19 yea, I myself will rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad with my people. And the voice of weeping and wailing shall not be heard in her from thence forth.

19 “I will also (AS)rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in My people;And there will no longer be heard in herThe voice of (AT)weeping and the sound of crying.

19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

19 I will rejoice in Jerusalemand be glad in My people.The sound of weeping and cryingwill no longer be heard in her.(T)

19 I'll rejoice over Jerusalem, and take delight in my people; no longer will the sound of weeping be heard in it, nor the cry of distress.

20 There shall never be child nor old man, that have not their full days. But when the child cometh to a hundred years old, it shall die. And if he that is a hundred years of age do wrong, he shall be cursed.

20 “No longer will there be (o)in it an infant who lives but a few days,Or an old man who does (AU)not (p)live out his days;For the youth will die at the age of one hundredAnd the (q)(AV)one who does not reach the age of one hundredWill be thought accursed.

20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

20 In her, a nursing infant will no longer liveonly a few days,(i)or an old man not live out his days.Indeed, the youth will die at a hundred years,and the one who misses a hundred years will be cursed.(U)

20 "And there will no longer be in it a young boy who lives only a few days, or an old person who does not live out his days; for one who dies at a hundred years will be thought a mere youth, and one who falls short of a hundred years will be considered accursed.

21 They shall build houses, and dwell in them: they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

21 “They will (AW)build houses and inhabit them;They will also (AX)plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

21 People will build houses and live in them;they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.(V)

21 People will build houses and live in them; They'll plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

22 They shall not build, and another possess; they shall not plant, and another eat. But the life of my people shall be like a tree, and so shall the work of their hands.

22 “They will not build and (AY)another inhabit,They will not plant and another eat;For (AZ)as the (r)lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people,And My chosen ones will (BA)wear out the work of their hands.

22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

22 They will not build and others live in them;they will not plant and others eat.For My people’s lives will belike the lifetime of a tree.(W)My chosen ones will fully enjoythe work of their hands.

22 They won't build for others to inhabit; they won't plant for others to eat for like the lifetime of a tree, so will the lifetime of my people be, and my chosen ones will long enjoy the work of their hands.

23 My chosen shall live long, they shall not labour in vain, nor beget with trouble: for they are the high, blessed seed of the LORD, and their fruits with them.

23 “They will (BB)not labor in vain,Or bear children for calamity;For they are the (s)(BC)offspring of those blessed by the Lord,And their descendants with them.

23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

23 They will not labor without success(X)or bear children destined for disaster,for they will be a people blessed by the Lordalong with their descendants.(Y)

24 And it shall be, that before they call, I shall answer them. While they are yet but thinking how to speak, I shall hear them.

24 It will also come to pass that before they call, I will (BD)answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.

24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

24 Even before they call, I will answer;(Z)while they are still speaking, I will hear.

24 Before they call, I will answer, while they are still speaking, I'll hear.

25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat hay like the bullock. But earth shall be the serpent's meat. There shall no man hurt nor slay another, in all my holy hill, sayeth the LORD.

25 The (BE)wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the (BF)lion will eat straw like the ox; and (BG)dust will be the serpent’s food. They will (BH)do no evil or harm in all My (BI)holy mountain,” says the Lord.

25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
