Isaiah 7:13

The Immanuel Prophecy

¹² But Ahaz said: I will not ask. I will not put Jehovah to the test. ¹³ Then he said, “Listen now, O house of David! Is it too slight a thing for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God as well? ¹⁴ Therefore Jehovah will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel (God with us).

Isaiah 43:24

You did not buy me any sugar cane with your money or satisfy me with the best part of your sacrifices. Rather, you burdened me with your sins and troubled me with your iniquities.

A report was made to the house of David saying: Aram has allied itself with Ephraim. The heart of Ahaz and the heart of his people shook (their courage failed) as the trees of the forest shake before the wind.

Genesis 30:15

2 Chronicles 21:7

Jehovah was not willing to destroy the dynasty of David. This is because he made a covenant with David and promised that his descendants would always continue to rule.
