The Babylonians Withdraw To Meet A Threat From Egypt

² Zedekiah, his administrators, and the common people did not listen to what Jehovah spoke through the prophet Jeremiah. ³ Yet King Zedekiah sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, to Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “Please pray to the Lord our God on our behalf.” ⁴ Jeremiah was still free to come and go among the people. The people of Jerusalem had not put him in prison yet.

Jeremiah 21:1-2

This is the word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah. King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur the son of Malchijah, and Zephaniah the priest, the son of Maaseiah. The king said to Jeremiah:
