31 As it was the day of Preparation for the Passover, that the bodies might not remain on the crosses during the Sabbath, for that Sabbath was a very important one, the Jews requested Pilate to have their legs broken and their bodies taken down. 32 So the soldiers went and broke the legs of the first man and of the other one who had been crucified with Him. 33 But when they came to Jesus, as they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs,
