I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
So Jesus said,
“When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me.
Jesus answered them,
“ I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify of Me.
Then a Father, glorify Your name.” voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”
I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.
Thus you longed for the
lewdness of your youth, when the Egyptians handled your bosom because of the breasts of your youth.
no one takes the honor to himself, but receives it when he is called by God, even as Aaron was.
For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.
For some time ago Theudas rose up,
claiming to be somebody, and a group of about four hundred men joined up with him. But he was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing.
Then you are not
the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?”
Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘ There He is,’ do not believe him.
And then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ’; or, ‘Behold, He is there’; do not believe him;
concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me;
