1 Now there were some present on that occasion who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.

2 He answered them, "Do you think these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered these things?
2 And Jesus said to them, “(B)Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this fate?
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
2 And He(a) responded to them, “Do you think that these Galileans were more sinful than all Galileans because they suffered these things?(D)
2 He asked them, "Do you think that these Galileans were more sinful than all the other Galileans because they suffered like this?
4 Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower in Siloam fell on them, do you think they were worse offenders than all the others who live in Jerusalem?
4 Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in (C)Siloam fell and killed them were worse (c)(D)culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem?
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

4 What about those eighteen people who were killed when the tower at Siloam fell on them? Do you think they were worse offenders than all the other people living in Jerusalem?
5 No, I tell you! But unless you repent you will all perish as well!"
5 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

6 Then Jesus told this parable: "A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it and found none.
6 And He began telling this parable: “A man had (E)a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any.
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

6 Then Jesus told them this parable: "A man had a fig tree that had been planted in his vineyard. He went to look for fruit on it but didn't find any.
7 So he said to the worker who tended the vineyard, 'For three years now, I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and each time I inspect it I find none. Cut it down! Why should it continue to deplete the soil?'
7 And he said to the vineyard-keeper, ‘Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree (d)without finding any. (F)Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?’
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
7 He told the vineyard worker, ‘Listen, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down!(H) Why should it even waste the soil?’(I)
7 So he told the gardener, "Look here! For three years I've been coming to look for fruit on this tree but I haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it waste the soil?'
8 But the worker answered him, 'Sir, leave it alone this year too, until I dig around it and put fertilizer on it.
8 And he answered and said to him, ‘Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer;
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
8 “But he replied to him, ‘Sir,(b) leave it this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.(J)
8 But the gardener replied, "Sir, leave it alone for one more year, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
9 Then if it bears fruit next year, very well, but if not, you can cut it down.'"
9 and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.’”
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

11 and a woman was there who had been disabled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten herself up completely.
11 And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had (H)a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all.
11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

12 When Jesus saw her, he called her to him and said, "Woman, you are freed from your infirmity."

14 But (K)the synagogue official, indignant because Jesus (L)had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, “(M)There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”
14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
14 But the leader of the synagogue, indignant(P) because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, responded by telling the crowd, “There are six days when work should be done;(Q) therefore come on those days and be healed and not on the Sabbath day.”
14 But the synagogue leader, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, told the crowd, "There are six days when work is to be done. So come on those days to be healed, and not on the Sabbath day."
15 Then the Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from its stall, and lead it to water?
15 But (N)the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites, (O)does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead him away to water him?
15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
15 But the Lord answered him and said, “Hypocrites!(R) Doesn’t each one of you untie his ox(S) or donkey from the feeding trough(T) on the Sabbath and lead it to water?(U)
15 The Lord replied to him, "You hypocrites! Doesn't each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey and lead it out of its stall to give it some water?
16 Then shouldn't this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be released from this imprisonment on the Sabbath day?"
16 And this woman, (P)a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom (Q)Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?”
16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
16 Satan(V) has bound(W) this woman, a daughter of Abraham,(X) for 18 years—shouldn’t she be untied from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
16 Shouldn't this woman, a descendant of Abraham whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free from this bondage on the Sabbath day?"
17 When he said this all his adversaries were humiliated, but the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things he was doing.
17 As He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and (R)the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him.
17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

19 It is like a mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the wild birds nested in its branches."

24 "Exert every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
24 “(Z)Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door,(AG) because I tell you, many will try to enter and won’t be able
24 He told them, "Keep on struggling to enter through the narrow door, because I tell you that many people will try to enter, but won't be able to do so.
25 Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, then you will stand outside and start to knock on the door and beg him, 'Lord, let us in!' But he will answer you, 'I don't know where you come from.'
25 Once the head of the house gets up and (AA)shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘(AB)Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘(AC)I do not know where you are from.’
25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

26 Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.'

26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

27 But he will reply, 'I don't know where you come from! Go away from me, all you evildoers!'
27 and He will say, ‘I tell you, (AE)I do not know where you are from; (AF)depart from Me, all you evildoers.’
27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves thrown out.
28 (AG)In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.
28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

32 But he said to them, "Go and tell that fox, 'Look, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete my work.
32 And He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I (g)(AK)reach My goal.’
32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
32 He said to them, “Go tell that fox, ‘Look! I’m driving out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day(k) I will complete My work.’(l)(AQ)
32 He told them, "Go and tell that fox, "Listen! I am driving out demons and healing today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will finish my work.
33 Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, because it is impossible that a prophet should be killed outside Jerusalem.'
33 Nevertheless (AL)I must journey on today and tomorrow and the next day; for it cannot be that a (AM)prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.

34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

35 Look, your house is forsaken! And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, 'Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!'"
35 Behold, your house is left to you desolate; and I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘(AP)Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
35 See, your house(m) is abandoned to you.(BA) And I tell you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘He who comes in the name of the Lord is the blessed One’!”(BB)(n)
35 Look! Your house is left vacant to you. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, "How blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!'"
