John The Baptist Begins His Ministry
2 As it is written in the prophet Isaiah, "Here I send my messenger on before you; He will prepare your way;

4 John the baptizer appeared in the desert, and preached repentance and baptism in order to obtain the forgiveness of sins.

The Baptism Of Jesus
9 It was in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

Jesus Calls His First Disciples
16 As he was passing along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets in the sea, for they were fishermen.

23 All of a sudden, there was a man in their synagogue who had an unclean spirit! He screamed,
24 "What do you want of us, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, you are God's holy One!"
24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

26 The foul spirit convulsed the man and gave a loud cry and went out of him.

45 But he went off and began to talk so much about it, and to spread the story so widely, that Jesus could no longer go into a town openly, but stayed out in unfrequented places, and people came to him from every direction.
