Jesus Predicts His Death And Resurrection A Third Time

³³ When we go to Jerusalem the Son of man will be turned over to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death and hand him over to the people of the nations. ³⁴ They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again.” ³⁵ James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him saying: Teacher, we want you to do for us what we ask of you.

From that time forward Jesus made it clear to his disciples how he would have to go to Jerusalem. He told them he would undergo much at the hands of the authorities, including the chief priests and scribes. He let them know he would be put to death. The third day he would come back from the dead.
