Proverbs 12

² A good man, obtaineth favour from Yahweh, but, a man of wicked devices, will he condemn.

² A ^(A)good man will obtain favor from the Lord,But He will condemn a man ^(b)who devises evil.

² A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

² The good person obtains favor from the Lord,^(B)but He condemns a man who schemes.^(C)

² The good person will gain favor from the LORD, but the man who plots evil will be condemned by him.

⁴ A virtuous woman, is the crown of her husband, but, a veritable decay in his bones, is she that causeth shame.

⁴ An ^(c)(D)excellent wife is the crown of her husband,But she who shames him is like ^(E)rottenness in his bones.

⁴ A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

⁴ A capable wife^(a) is her husband’s crown,^(E)but a wife who causes shameis like rottenness in his bones.^(F)

⁶ The words of the lawless, are - of lying in wait for blood, but, the mouth of the upright, shall deliver them.

⁶ The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

⁶ The words of the wicked lead to bloodshed, but the speech of the upright delivers them.

⁸ In proportion to his prudence, is a man, to be praised, but, the perverse in heart, shall be an object of contempt.

⁸ A man will be praised according to his insight,But one of perverse ^(d)mind will be despised.

⁸ A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

⁸ A man is praised for his insight,but a twisted mind is despised.

⁸ A man is praised because of his wise words, but the perverted mind will be despised.

¹⁰ A righteous man, regardeth the desire of his beast, but, the compassions of the lawless, are cruel.

¹⁰ A ^(J)righteous man has regard for the life of his animal,But even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.

¹⁰ A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

¹⁰ The righteous person looks out for the welfare of his livestock, but even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.

¹² A lawless man craveth the prey of the wicked, but, the root of the righteous, is enduring.

¹² The ^(L)wicked man desires the ^(f)booty of evil men,But the root of the righteous ^(M)yields fruit.

¹² The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

¹² The wicked desire what evil men have,^(b)but the root of the righteous produces fruit.

¹² The wicked desires what evil people gain, but the foundation of the righteous is productive.

¹⁴ Of the fruit of a man's mouth, shall he be satisfied with good, and, the dealing of the hands of a son of earth, shall be paid back to him.

¹⁴ A man will be ^(O)satisfied with good by the fruit of his ^(h)words,And the ^(P)deeds of a man’s hands will return to him.

¹⁴ A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

¹⁴ A man will be satisfied with goodby the words of his mouth,^(Q)and the work of a man’s hands will reward him.^(R)

¹⁴ By his fruitful speech a man can remain satisfied, and a man's handiwork will reward him.

¹⁶ A foolish man, on the same day, letteth his vexation be known, but, he that concealeth an affront, is prudent.

¹⁶ A ^(R)fool’s anger is known at once,But a prudent man conceals dishonor.

¹⁶ A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.

¹⁶ A fool’s displeasure is known at once,but whoever ignores an insult is sensible.^(T)

¹⁶ The anger of a fool becomes readily apparent, but the prudent person overlooks an insult.

¹⁸ There is who babbleth, as with thrusts of a sword, but, the tongue of the wise, hath healing.

¹⁸ There is one who ^(S)speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword,But the ^(T)tongue of the wise brings healing.

¹⁸ There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

¹⁸ There is one who speaks rashly,like a piercing sword;^(V)but the tongue of the wise brings healing.^(W)

¹⁸ Some speak rashly like the cutting of a sword, but what the wise say promotes healing.

²⁰ Deceit, is in the heart of contrivers of mischief, but, to the counsellors of peace, shall be joy.

²⁰ Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,But counselors of peace have joy.

²⁰ Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.

²⁰ Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil,but those who promote peace have joy.^(Y)

²² An abomination to Yahweh, are lips that are false, but, he that dealeth faithfully, is his delight.

^{22 (W)}Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,But those who deal faithfully are His delight.

²² Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.

²² Lying lips are detestable to the Lord,^(AA)but faithful people are His delight.^(AB)

²² Deceitful speech is reprehensible to the LORD, but those who act faithfully are his delight.

²⁴ The hand of the diligent, shall hear rule, but, the indolent, shall come under tribute.

²⁴ The hand of the diligent will rule,But the ^(j)slack hand will be ^(Y)put to forced labor.

²⁴ The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

²⁴ The diligent hand will rule,but laziness will lead to forced labor.^(AD)

²⁴ The diligent will take control, but the lazy will be put to forced labor.

²⁶ The righteous man guideth his neighbour, but, the way of the lawless, leadeth them astray.

²⁶ The righteous is a guide to his neighbor,But the way of the wicked leads them astray.

²⁶ The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

²⁶ A righteous man is careful in dealing with his neighbor,^(c)but the ways of the wicked lead them astray.^(AF)

²⁶ The righteous person is cautious with respect to his neighbor, but the lifestyle of the wicked leads them astray.

²⁸ In the way of righteousness, is life, and, in the path thereof, immortality,
