A Prayer For God To Throw Down The Wicked
2 The wicked arrogantly chase the oppressed; the oppressed are trapped by the schemes the wicked have dreamed up.
2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
2 In (C)pride the wicked (b)hotly pursue the afflicted;(c)Let them be (D)caught in the plots which they have devised.
2 In arrogance the wicked relentlessly pursue the afflicted;let them be caught in the schemes they have devised.(C)
2 The wicked one arrogantly pursues the afflicted, who are trapped in the schemes he devises.
3 Yes, the wicked man boasts because he gets what he wants; the one who robs others curses and rejects the Lord.
3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.
3 For the wicked (E)boasts of his (F)heart’s desire,And (d)the greedy man curses and (G)spurns the Lord.
3 For the wicked one boasts about his own cravings;(D)the one who is greedy curses(c) and despises the Lord.(E)
3 For the wicked one boasts about his own desire; he blesses the greedy and despises the LORD.
4 The wicked man is so arrogant he always thinks, "God won't hold me accountable; he doesn't care."
4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
4 The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, (H)does not seek Him.All his (e)thoughts are, “(I)There is no God.”
4 In all his scheming,the wicked arrogantly thinks:(d)“There is no accountability,since God does not exist.”(F)
4 With haughty arrogance, the wicked thinks, "God will not seek justice." He always presumes "There is no God."
5 He is secure at all times. He has no regard for your commands; he disdains all his enemies.
5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

5 Their ways always seem prosperous. Your judgments are on high, far away from them. They scoff at all their enemies.
6 He says to himself, "I will never be upended, because I experience no calamity."
6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

6 They say to themselves, "We will not be moved throughout all time, and we will not experience adversity."
7 His mouth is full of curses and deceptive, harmful words; his tongue injures and destroys.
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

8 He waits in ambush near the villages; in hidden places he kills the innocent. His eyes look for some unfortunate victim.

14 You have taken notice, for you always see one who inflicts pain and suffering. The unfortunate victim entrusts his cause to you; you deliver the fatherless.
14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
14 You have seen it, for You have beheld (AB)mischief and vexation to (o)take it into Your hand.The (p)(AC)unfortunate commits himself to You;You have been the (AD)helper of the orphan.
14 But You Yourself have seen trouble and grief,observing it in order to take the matter into Your hands.(Q)The helpless entrusts himself to You;You are a helper of the fatherless.(R)
14 But you do see! You take note of trouble and grief in order to take the matter into your own hand. The helpless one commits himself to you; you have been the orphan's helper.
15 Break the arm of the wicked and evil man! Hold him accountable for his wicked deeds, which he thought you would not discover.
