Prayer Of A Suffering Sinner
1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your wrath,Nor discipline me in Your burning anger.
1 {A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.} O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
1 A Psalm of David, for a memorial.O Lord, (A)rebuke me not in Your wrath,And chasten me not in Your burning anger.
1 A Davidic psalm for remembrance.(A)Lord, do not punish me in Your angeror discipline me in Your wrath.(B)
1 LORD! Do not rebuke me in your anger; do not correct me in your wrath,
3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation; There is no health in my bones because of my sin.
3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
3 There is (D)no soundness in my flesh (E)because of Your indignation; There is no health (F)in my bones because of my sin.
3 There is no health in my bodybecause of Your indignation;there is no strength(a) in my bonesbecause of my sin.(D)
3 My body is unhealthy due to your anger, and my bones have no rest due to my sin.
8 I am numb and greatly bruised [deadly cold and completely worn out];I groan because of the disquiet and moaning of my heart.
8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
8 I am weak and utterly crushed; I cry out in distress because of my heart's anguish.
10 My heart throbs violently, my strength fails me;And as for the light of my eyes, even that has also gone from me.
10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
10 My heart throbs, (Q)my strength fails me;And the (R)light of my eyes, even (f)that (g)has gone from me.
10 My heart pounds, my strength fails me, even the gleam in my eye is gone.
12 Those who seek my life lay snares for me,And those who seek to injure me threaten mischievous things and destruction; They devise treachery all the day long.
12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
12 Those who (U)seek my life (V)lay snares for me;And those who (W)seek to injure me have (i)threatened destruction,And they (X)devise treachery all day long.
12 Those who seek my life set traps, and those who want to harm me threaten to destroy me;they plot treachery all day long.(M)
12 Those who seek my life lay snares for me; those who seek to do me harm brag all day long about their wicked planning.
13 But I, like a deaf man, do not hear;I am like a mute man who does not open his mouth.
13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
13 I am like a deaf person; I do not hear.I am like a speechless personwho does not open his mouth.(N)
13 I am like the deaf, who cannot hear, and like the mute, who cannot open his mouth.
14 Yes, I am like a man who does not hear,In whose mouth are no arguments.
14 Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
14 Yes, I am like a man who does not hear,And in whose mouth are no arguments.
14 Indeed, I have become like a man who hears nothing, and in whose mouth there is no rebuke.
16 For I pray, “May they not rejoice over me,Who, when my foot slips, would boast against me.”
16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
16 For I said, “May they not rejoice over me,Who, when my foot slips, (AB)would magnify themselves against me.”
16 For I said, "Do not let them gloat over me, as they congratulate themselves when my foot slips."
