Matthew 18:6-9 - Temptations To Sin

Matthew 18:6-9

6 but whoever offends one of these little ones that believe in me, it would be better for him that a millstone should be hung to his neck, and that he should be plunged into the depths of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must necessarily come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! 8 If your hand or foot offends you, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame, or crippled, than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire. 9 And if your eye offends you, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life having one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.

Mark 9:42-50

42 And whoever shall offend one of the little ones having faith, it would be better for him if a millstone was put about his neck and he was cast into the sea. 43 And if your hand offends you, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life crippled, than having two hands to go away into hell, into the inextinguishable fire. 44 (Added verse not retained in Sawyer)

45 And if your foot offends you, cut it off: it is better for you to enter into life lame, than having two feet to be cast into hell. 46 (Added verse not retained in Sawyer)

47 And if your eye offends you, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell, 48 where the worm dies not and the fire is not extinguished.

49 For every man shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. 50 Salt is good; but if the salt has become insipid, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace one with another.
