John 4:27-38 - The Disciples And The Harvest
And upon this his disciples came, and were astonished that he was talking with the woman. Yet no one said: What seekest thou? or, why talkest thou with her?
Then the woman left her water-pot, and went into the city, and said to the men: 29 Come, see a man who has told me all things that I ever did. Is not this the Christ? 30 Then they went out of the city and came to him.
In the mean time, the disciples besought him, saying: Rabbi, eat.
But he said to them: I have food to eat of which you know not.
Then the disciples said one to another: Has any one brought him food?
Jesus said to them: My food is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. 35 Do you not say, There are yet four months, and harvest comes? Behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, for they are already white for the harvest. 36 And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for life eternal; that he that sows, and he that reaps, may rejoice together. 37 For in this is the saying true, One sows and another reaps. 38 I have sent you to reap that on which you bestowed no labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.
