common to all (Job 5:7; 14:1; Ps 34:19); are for the good of men (Jas 1:2-3,12; 2Co 12:7) and the glory of God (2Co 12:7-10; 1Pe 4:14), and are to be borne with patience by the Lord's people (Ps 94:12; Pr 3:12). They are all directed by God (La 3:33), and will result in the everlasting good of his people (2Co 4:16-18) in Christ Jesus (Ro 8:35-39).

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall affliction or distress, persecution or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day; we are accounted as sheep for slaughter. read more. But in all these things we more than conquer, through him who loved us. Blessed is the man who endures trial, for when proved he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.
