Reference: Judgments Of God
(1.) The secret decisions of God's will (Ps 110:5; 36:6). (2.) The revelations of his will (Ex 21:1; De 6:20; Ps 119:7-175). (3.) The infliction of punishment on the wicked (Ex 6:6; 12:12; Eze 25:11; Re 16:7), such as is mentioned in Ge 7; 19:24-25; Jg 1:6-7; Ac 5:1-10, etc.
"Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
'For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments--I am the LORD.
"Now these are the ordinances which you are to set before them:
"When your son asks you in time to come, saying, 'What do the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments mean which the LORD our God commanded you?'
But Adoni-bezek fled; and they pursued him and caught him and cut off his thumbs and big toes. The young men got up and covered him up, and after carrying him out, they buried him. Now there elapsed an interval of about three hours, and his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter responded to her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for such and such a price?" And she said, "Yes, that was the price." Then Peter said to her, "Why is it that you have agreed together to put the Spirit of the Lord to the test? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out as well." And immediately she fell at his feet and breathed her last, and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
