If a man shall have a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and who, when they have chastened him, will not hearken to them: Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out to the elders of his city, and to the gate of his place;

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

For I earnestly protested to your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, even to this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loveth me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ;

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Though he was a Son, yet he learned obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation to all them that obey him;

Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written concerning me,) to do thy will, O God.
