The beginning of the word of Yahweh with Hosea, was, - that Yahweh said unto Hosea, Go take thee a woman of unchastity, and the children of unchastity, for, unchastely indeed, hath the land been going away from following Yahweh.

As also in Hosea he saith - I will call the not-my-people, My people, and the not-beloved, beloved,

The word of Yahweh which came unto Hosea son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah, - and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel.

In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, began Hosea son of Elah to reign in Samaria, over Israel, and he reigned nine years.

Then found the king of Assyria, in Hosea, a conspiracy, in that he had sent messengers unto So king of Egypt, and had not brought up a present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year, - therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.

And it came to pass, in the fourth year of King Hezekiah - the same, was the seventh year of Hosea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and laid siege against it;
