Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them who suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in watchings, in fastings;

Agree with thy adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Verily, I say to thee, thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

When thou goest with thy adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he draw thee before the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

Save that the Holy Spirit testifieth in every city, saying, that bonds and afflictions abide me.

For John was not yet cast into prison.

Moreover Jeremiah said to king Zedekiah, In what have I offended against thee, or against thy servants, or against this people, that ye have put me in prison?

That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed its cities; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
