And if a man will at all redeem aught of his tithes, he shall add to it the fifth part of it. And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD, Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wherever any breach shall be found.
And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him to Pilate. And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this man perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cesar, saying, that he himself is Christ a king.

Let every soul be subject to the higher powers. For there is no power but from God: the powers that are, are ordained by God.
Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme;
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power; do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same:
For so is the will of God, that with well-doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.
