And David said to Solomon his son, As for me, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of LORD my God. And I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days. He shall build a house for my name. And he shall be my son, and I will be his father, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever. Now, my son, LORD be with thee, and prosper thou, and build the house of LORD thy God as he has spoken concerning thee. But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding.
Thy hands have made me and fashioned me. Give me understanding that I may learn thy commandments. Those who fear thee shall see me and be glad, because I have hoped in thy word. I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness thou have afflicted me.

There is nothing better for a man [than] that he should eat and drink, and make his soul enjoy good in his labor. This also I saw, that it is from the hand of God. For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, without him? For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the land, and the treacherous shall be rooted out of it.

But we speak wisdom among the fully developed, but not a wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age who come to nothing. But we speak a wisdom of God in a hidden mystery, which God predestined before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age know.
