Wisdom [is] the principal thing. Get wisdom, yea, with all thy getting get understanding.

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding.

Receive my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold. For wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

To the wise man the way of life [is] upward, that he may depart from Sheol beneath.

My son, do not forget my law, but let thy heart keep my commandments. For length of days, and years of life, and peace, they will add to thee.

He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.

There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of a wise man, but a foolish man swallows it up. He who follows after righteousness and kindness finds life, righteousness, and honor.

Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established,

For the shepherds have become brutish, and have not inquired of LORD. Therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks are scattered.

Do not forsake her, and she will preserve thee. Love her, and she will keep thee.

But he who hearkens to me shall dwell securely, and shall be quiet without fear of evil.

Then thou shall understand righteousness and justice and equity, [yea], every good path. For wisdom shall enter into thy heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant to thy soul, discretion shall watch over thee, understanding shall keep thee,

In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks wisely, he shall be delivered.

behold, I have done according to thy word. Lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart, so that there has been none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like thee.

Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind?

Behold, thou desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part thou will make me to know wisdom.

so as to incline thine ear to wisdom, and apply thy heart to understanding,

The heart of the wise instructs his mouth, and adds learning to his lips.

Incline thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thy heart to my knowledge.

Walk in wisdom toward those outside, redeeming the time,

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show from his good behavior his works in mildness of wisdom.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness and justice and equity,

I have taught thee in the way of wisdom. I have led thee in paths of uprightness.

Folly is joy to him who is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding makes his going straight.

But if ye have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast, and do not lie against the truth. This wisdom is not descending from above, but is earthly, world-soul, demonic. For where envy and selfish ambition are, there is instability and every evil deed.read more.
But the wisdom from above is indeed first pure, then peaceful, meek, easily entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and non-hypocritical.

Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins, who, having taken their lamps, went forth to the bridegroom's gathering. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish, foolish women, who, having taken their lamps, took no olive oil with them.read more.

The wisdom of a prudent man is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.

A prudent man sees the evil, and hides himself, but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.

By me kings reign, and rulers decree justice. By me rulers rule, and ranking men, [even] all the judges of the earth.

Therefore, brothers, seek ye out seven men from you being well reported, full of Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this need.

Take for you wise men, and understanding, and known, according to your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.

The mouth of a righteous man talks of wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.

A wise king winnows the wicked, and brings the wheel over them.

These also are from the wise: To have respect of persons in judgment is not good.

Who then is the faithful and wise bondman, whom his lord appointed over his service, to give them the provision on time?

And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and wise manager whom his lord will appoint over his service to give the provision on time?

I speak shame about you. So there is not among you not even one wise man who will be able to arbitrate between his brother?

Wisdom cries aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the broad places. She cries in the chief place of concourse, at the entrance of the gates, in the city. She utters her words:

My son, attend to my wisdom. Incline thine ear to my understanding,

Does not wisdom cry out, and understanding put forth her voice?

The wise in heart shall be called prudent, and the sweetness of the lips increases learning.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the law of kindness is on her tongue.

And those who are wise among the people shall instruct many, yet they shall fall by the sword and by flame, by captivity and by spoil, [many] days.

But we speak wisdom among the fully developed, but not a wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age who come to nothing. But we speak a wisdom of God in a hidden mystery, which God predestined before the ages for our glory,

Whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, so that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing by grace in your hearts to God.

that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning, and that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsels,

The ear that hearkens to the reproof of life shall abide among the wise.

And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me while thy handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead. But when I had looked at it in the morning, behold, it was not my son whom I bore. And the other woman said, No, but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And the other woman said, No, but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spoke before the king. Then the king said, The one says, This is my son that lives, and thy son is the dead. And the other says, No, but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living. And the king said, Fetch me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other. Then the woman whose the living child was spoke to the king, for her heart yearned over her son, and she said, Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill it. But the other said, It shall be neither mine nor thine. Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and by no means kill it; she is the mother of it. And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged. And they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do justice.
