We have thought about your loving kindness, God, in the midst of your temple.

I considered my ways, and turned my steps to your statutes.






Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You represent the people before God, and bring the causes to God.

They spoke to him, saying, "If you will be a servant to this people this day, and will serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever."

Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if there may be a lengthening of your tranquility.

While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him."

He said to them, "You men of Israel, be careful concerning these men, what you are about to do.








Then the king made Daniel great, and gave him many great gifts, and made him to rule over the whole province of Babylon, and to be chief governor over all the wise men of Babylon.

It happened in the morning that his spirit was troubled, and he sent and called for all of Egypt's magicians and wise men. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them to Pharaoh.

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying,

So the decree went forth, and the wise men were to be slain; and they sought Daniel and his companions to be slain.

Then the king said to the wise men, who knew the times, (for it was the king's custom to consult those who knew law and judgment;


I have chosen the way of truth. I have set your ordinances before me.

Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.

Indeed all the nations may walk in the name of their gods; but we will walk in the name of Yahweh our God forever and ever.


Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse to it.




If it seems evil to you to serve Yahweh, choose this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh."
