I am glad that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus are come: for what was wanting on your side, they have supplied. for they have quieted my mind as well as yours: therefore to such have a regard.


for I have been inform'd, my brethren, by some of Chloe's family, that there are contentions among you.





This is the third time I am coming to you: "in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established."

I shall come to you, by the way of Macedonia: (for I pass thro' Macedonia) and perhaps I shall make some stay, if not pass the winter with you, that you may forward me on my journey, wherever I go. for I do not design to see you in my passage thither, yet I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permit.


Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the divine appointment, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God, which is at Corinth, with all the christians throughout Achaia: favour,


I Paul salute you, and with my own handwriting. If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accurst. the favour of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. read more.
present my love to every christian among you. amen.

In reality, we writ nothing to you, but what you may perceive by the reading, and I trust you ever will perceive.


But thanks be to God, who disposed Titus to be so industrious for you. for he not only complyed with my exhortation, but being more than ordinarily concern'd, he voluntarily went to you;

I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother: did Titus make a gain of you? didn't we follow the same principles, and take the same measures?


Gaius, with whom I lodge, who purveys for the church in general, salutes you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city salutes you; and Quartus a brother.

Erastus staid at Corinth: but Trophimus I left sick at Miletum.


Now if it has been declared, that Christ rose from the dead, how comes it, that some among you assert, "there is no resurrection of the dead?"


what, have you no houses to eat and drink in? or have ye a contempt for the church of God, or is it to insult those who are in want? what shall I say to you? shall I commend such behaviour? I do not approve of it.



while one cries I am Paul's disciple, and another, I am Apollo's, are ye not vicious?



not to call upon you as I pass into Macedonia, but in my return from thence, to be conducted by you toward Judea.




Whilst Apollos was at Corinth, Paul, having pass'd through the upper provinces of Asia, arrived at Ephesus, where finding some disciples, he said to them,

After this Paul left Athens and arriv'd at Corinth: where having found a Jew nam'd Aquila, a native of Pontus, who lately came from Italy, with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had order'd all the Jews to quit Rome; he went to them: and being of the same trade, he liv'd with them, and follow'd the business of tent-making. every sabbath he disputed in the synagogue,

You know brethren, that the family of Stephanas were the first converts of Achaia, and have made it their business to be serviceable to christian converts: to such,

true, I baptized the family of Stephanas: but I don't know that I baptized any other besides.
