A certain creditor had two debtors; the one owed him five hundred denarii, the other, fifty. But as they had nothing to pay, he forgave them both. Which of them, then, will love him the more? And that servant who knew his lord's will, but made no preparation, nor did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes; but he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few. To whomever much has been given, of him shall much be required; and to whom men have intrusted much, of him will they ask the more.
