Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves that ye sold me here, for God sent me before you for life. For these two years the famine has been in the land, and yet there are five years in which there shall neither be plowing nor harvest. So now it was not you that sent me here, but God; and he has made me as a father to Pharaoh and lord of all his house and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Make haste and go up to my father and say unto him: Thus saith thy son Joseph, God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down unto me, tarry not. And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou and thy sons and thy sons' sons and thy herds and thy cows and all that thou hast. And there I will nourish thee, for yet there are five years of famine, lest thou and thy household and all that thou hast perish of poverty. And, behold, your eyes see and the eyes of my brother Benjamin that it is my mouth that speaks unto you. And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father here. And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck and wept, and Benjamin wept upon his neck. Moreover he kissed all his brethren and wept upon them, and after that his brethren talked with him.

And Joseph said unto them, Fear not; for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God thought it out unto good, to bring to pass that which we see this day, to give life to many people. Now therefore fear ye not; I will nourish you and your little ones. Thus he comforted them and spoke to their heart.


Then Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother; and he sought where to weep, and he entered into his chamber and wept there.

And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck and wept, and Benjamin wept upon his neck.


Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all those that stood by him, and he cried, Cause everyone to go out from me. And no one stood with him while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren. And he wept aloud; and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard. And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; does my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him, for they were terrified at his presence. read more.

And he turned himself about from them and wept and returned to them again and spoke with them and took Simeon from them and bound him before their eyes.

And he wept aloud; and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.

So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren and their sin, for they did unto thee evil; and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the slaves of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spoke unto him.
