He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your own steadfastness.

And Jesus answered them: "Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.

Then if any one says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There he is!' do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.













See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness spring up and cause trouble, and by it many become defiled; that no one be immoral or godless like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal.
