Thematic Bible: In congregations

Thematic Bible

You are still fleshly! There is envy, strife, and divisions among you. Do you not walk as ordinary men? While one said, I belong to Paul; and another, I belong to Apollos; are you not fleshly human beings?

For first of all, when you come together in the congregation, I hear that there are divisions among you and I partly believe it. For there must be also heresies among you that they that are approved may be made manifest among you.

I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there are no divisions among you. You should be perfectly joined together (united) in the same mind and thought. The house of Chloe told me, my brothers, that there are disputes among you. Concerning that I say, that each one of you said, I follow Paul; and I follow Apollos; and I follow Cephas; and I follow Christ. read more.
Is Christ divided? Was Paul impaled for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

Let the one who speaks in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret what he says.

Do all have the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

I would like it that you all speak with tongues, but I prefer that you prophesy. The person who announces (teaches) (preaches) God's Word is greater than the person who speaks with tongues. The person who speaks with tongues should have an interpreter so the congregation may receive understanding and knowledge.

How is it then, brothers? When you come together, every one of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a tongue, has a revelation, and has an interpretation. Let all things be done to clarify and offer understanding! If anyone speaks in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three. It should be orderly by plan and someone must interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let the speaker keep silence in the congregation and speak to himself and to God.
