Other people said: This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.
Jesus said to them: A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own people and in his own house.
Jesus and his disciples went into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples: Who do men say I am? They told him: John the Baptist and others say Elijah. Some say you are one of the prophets.
They were all afraid and they praised God. They said: A great prophet has appeared among us. God has visited (inspected) (selected) his people.
He asked: What are you talking about with each other as you walk? They stopped walking and were sad. The one named Cleopas answered him: Do you travel alone in Jerusalem and not know the things that have happened there these days? He asked: What things? They said to him: The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene. He was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people.
The woman said to him: Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.
God has appointed some in the congregation: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helpers, abilities to direct, different tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?
We have gifts that differ according to the grace that is given to us. Whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
To another the workings of miracles and to another prophesy. To another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.
He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers.
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and do not have love, I have become like loud sounding brass, or a clashing cymbal. If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all secrets and all knowledge, and though I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
How is it then, brothers? When you come together, every one of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a tongue, has a revelation, and has an interpretation. Let all things be done to clarify and offer understanding!
I say through the grace given to me that every man among you should not think more highly of himself than he ought to think. But to think soberly, just as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. For we have many members in one body and all members do not have the same function. But the person who prophesies (proclaims God's Word openly) speaks to men to build up, encourage and comfort. The person who speaks in an unknown tongue enlightens himself; but he who declares God's Word enlightens the entire congregation! I would like it that you all speak with tongues, but I prefer that you prophesy. The person who announces (teaches) (preaches) God's Word is greater than the person who speaks with tongues. The person who speaks with tongues should have an interpreter so the congregation may receive understanding and knowledge.
According to the gift you have received, minister among yourselves, as good stewards of the increased grace (divine influence) (love) of God.

It will come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out from my Spirit upon all flesh. (Greek: apo, from) Your sons and your daughters will prophesy (proclaim God's Word). Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.
Prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch at that time. One of them was named Agabus. He indicated through the Spirit that a great famine was about to come on the entire earth. He said it would come to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
