When they had ordained elders in every congregation they prayed with fasting. They commended them to God, on whom they believed.

Is any among you sick? Let him call the elders of the congregation. Let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of God.

As much as you are zealous for spiritual gifts, strive to build-up (increase) the enlightenment (understanding) of the congregation.

Yet in the congregation I would rather speak five words with my understanding than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

When they want to learn something, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is improper for a woman to speak in the congregation.

If any woman that believes has dependant widows, she must assist them and not let the congregation be burdened. Then it can assist those who are actually widows.

They testify about your love seen by the congregation. You do well to send them forward on their journey worthily of God.

If he will not listen to them, let it come to the attention of the congregation. If he will not listen to the congregation, let him be to you as a heathen and a tax collector.
