Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave up Himself for it: to sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that He might prepare it for Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and unblameable. read more.
Men ought so to love their wives, as their own bodies: he that loveth his wife, loveth himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord also doth the church: for we are members of his body, as if taken out of his flesh, and of his bones, as Eve was out of Adam's. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This mystery is great: but I speak concerning Christ and the Church.

All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not regard them. Verse ConceptsListeningStealingPeople Going Beforethieves

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep. But the hireling, that is not the true shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf seizeth them, and disperseth the sheep.

Behold, I will give up those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews, and are not, but speak falsely; behold, I will make them come and bow before thy feet, and they shall know that I have loved thee. Verse ConceptsFeetSatan, As DeceiverSatanticKnowing About God's KingdomSatanJews

And Jesus said, I am come into this world to execute judgement; that they who see not, may see; and that they who say they see, may be made blind. And some of the pharisees who were present, heard these words, and said to Him, Are we blind also? Jesus replied, If ye were blind, ye would not have sin: but now ye say, We see; your sin therefore remaineth.

Verily, verily I say unto you, He that entreth not into the sheep-fold by the door, but climbeth up some other way, is a thief and a robber. But he that cometh in by the door, is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth, and the sheep hear his voice; and He calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. read more.
And when he bringeth forth his sheep, he goeth before them: and the sheep follow him; because they know his voice. But they will not follow a stranger, but will flee from him; because they know not the voice of strangers. This parable Jesus spake unto them; but they did not understand what He said to them. Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily I tell you, that I am the door of the sheep. All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not regard them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved; and shall go in and out, and find pasture. But the hireling, that is not the true shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf seizeth them, and disperseth the sheep. Now the hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and I know my own sheep, and am known by them. Even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they will hear my voice; so there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. For this doth the Father love me; because I lay down my life: that I may take it again. None taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself: I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment I have received from my Father. There was a division therefore again among the Jews on account of these words. And many of them said, He is a demoniac, and is mad; why do ye hear Him? Others said, These are not the words of a demoniac; can a demon open the eyes of the blind?

Our fathers did eat manna in the desert, as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Therefore Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I tell you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which descendeth from heaven, and giveth life to the world.

Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily I tell you, that I am the door of the sheep. All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not regard them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved; and shall go in and out, and find pasture. read more.

for as I was passing along, and looking at what ye worshipped, I found an altar on which there was inscribed, "To the unknown God." Whom therefore ye worship unknown, Him do I declare unto you. The God that made the world and all things therein, being lord of heaven and earth dwelleth not in temples made with hands: nor is He served by the hands of men, as needing any thing: for He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

When Jesus had spoken these words, He lifted up his eyes to heaven and said,--- "Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify Thee: as Thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that as to all which Thou hast given Him, He might give them eternal life; and this is life eternal, to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. read more.
I have glorified Thee on earth, I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do: and now, O Father, glorify Thou me with thine own self, with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was made. I have manifested thy name to the men, whom Thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and Thou gavest them to me, and they have kept thy word. They now know that all things whatsoever Thou hast given me, are indeed from Thee; for the instructions, which Thou gavest me, I have given to them: and they have received them, and have known of a truth that I came from Thee, and have believed that thou hast sent me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom Thou hast given me, for they are thine. And all my concerns are thine, and thine are mine: and I am therefore glorified in them. And as I am to be no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to Thee, Holy Father, keep by thy name those whom Thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; I have preserved those whom Thou gavest me, and none of them is lost; except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled. But now I am coming to Thee, and I speak these things in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in them. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not pray that Thou wouldest take them out of the world, but that thou wouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by thy truth: thy word is truth. As Thou hast sent me into the world, so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified through the truth. Nor do I pray for these only, but for them also that shall believe on me through their word. That they all may be one, as Thou, O Father, art in me, and I in Thee; that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them: that they may be one, even as we are one. I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom thou hast given me, may be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for Thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world indeed hath not known Thee: but I have known Thee, and these have known that Thou hast sent me. And I have made known to them thy name, and will farther make it known; that the love wherewith Thou hast loved me, may be in them, and I also in them.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If any one love me, he will observe my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and will make our abode with him. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard, how I said unto you, "I am going away, and I shall come again to you." If ye loved me, ye would rejoice that I said, I am going to the Father: for my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that when it cometh to pass ye may believe. I shall not have much more conversation with you: for the prince of this world is coming; not that he hath any thing in me, but that the world may know that I love the Father, and that I do as the Father hath commanded me. Arise, let us go hence.
